Looking for best price on a wii U. Doesn't need to come with games (we have a ton of wii games) but if the price is better as a bundle that's fine.

Our wii stopped working (just the display...sound is there) so rather than fix it, I think it's time to upgrade.

Can I get credit at Game Stop for a non-working Wii?

First, GameStop will not accept non-working equipment -- a "classic" Wii, not working, should fetch you about 25 bucks on eBay (people buy them for spare parts, etc.).

The current retail price for a Wii U is $300.00 (plus sales tax) -- Nintendo dropped the price from $350 to "goose" sales a bit...

As the major game console manufacturers (Nintendo/Wii, Microsoft/Xbox, and Sony/PlayStation) all have new consoles making their debut just in time for the 2013 holidays, those game consoles will all be "price-fixed" at all major retailers for the next couple of years.

There is a possibility either Target or Walmart may attach a store gift card to the Wii U during the next few weeks, and there could also be "bundle" deals at the major warehouse club chains (Sam's Club/Costco/BJ's) -- YMMV.

The price is pretty much the same everywhere. I did get 5% off when I bought mine at Target since I used my Target Red Card (debit).

I think I am going to get it at Toys R Us on a Saturday when they have the 10% off everything deal...hoping it doesn't exclude game systems.

Thanks for all the replies...Target will be my backup (though I am really hoping for a Target bonus gift card offer! :)

It's not a specific deal but personally I think the New Super Mario U + Super Luigi U Wii u bundle is a nice deal. It's 299.99 + tax and comes with the system plus the two games.

Considering the cheapest I've seen those games run for is 45 and 25 respectively, I thought it was worth the price since you are getting 70$ worth of games for free!

I was hoping For a deal on the WiiU on Thanksgiving, but this new bundle is perfect for us, so I think I may surprise DS with it for his birthday on Nov. 22. That will also let me focus on getting DD's #1 Christmas request of the Lego LotR Tower of Orthanc. Praying for a good deal on that. She's been obsessed with it since we saw it at DTD last week. :goodvibes

To the OP... Are you 100% certain there's a problem with the wii itself and perhaps not a problem with the cable connecting the wii to the tv? Before dishing out money for a new wii you might want to check the audio/video cord. Maybe even borrow one from a friend just to be 100% certain.

I agree, double check the cables first.

Our wii has been dying a long slow death so our plan is to upgrade to the wii u for Christmas. I have not seen any good deals yet. My plan was to wait for black friday and/or cyber monday. Target is my back up as well :)

Is this at Toys R Us? Thanks! Will try to purchase Saturday.

Thanks for the notes about checking the cable...will borrow one and do that!

They have the bundle at Gamestop, Meijer, Walmart, and Best Buy. Target and Kmart do not have it, and there are no discounts or gift card offers right now. Still might buy it today, though.

ETA: Target DOES have it! (Thanks, StitchandPooh'sMom!)

Hmmm - I thought I saw it last week at our Target. I was hoping to use my RedCard discount and pharmacy rewards coupon once I get it. I will have to double-check that the next time I go to Target.

Edited to add:

The Target toy book has a picture of the deluxe Wii U console, which appears to include Super Mario and Super Luigi (Super Luigi is also listed separately, but it seems to be in the Super Mario case as well).

Thanks for posting! It was not showing up went I looked online last night (but it is now, though not for online purchase), and the ad in the toy book made it look like only bonus videos of the Luigi game were included.

Does anyone know for sure if video games and console purchases qualify for the Target RedCard 5% off? It might be worth opening an account for this. We've been thinking about getting one for awhile now.

The TRU BF ad shows the Wii U Skylanders Swap Force bundle for $260

In this weeks Kmart ad they have the new Mario bundle for 299 with $30 back in SYW rewards.

It has in the past. We have bought a Wii and an XBOX with the discount, and more video games than I would like to remember. The 5% also works on Disney gift cards and iTunes card, as well as other non-Target and non-Visa/MasterCard gift cards.

Target also has a debit card that gives 5% off if you didn't want the credit card.

I wonder if that is a regional thing? I can't seem to find it anywhere online.
