Best price on netbook this season???

My dd 9 wants one. I have made it clear to her, if I can't find one reasonable. It's not going to happen. I consulted with dh and reasonable to him is less then $200, closer to $150. I don't know if I can even do it for that. I saw Radio Shack wasgoing to have an acer for $178. But it says one per store I was really wanting to avoid black Friday this year!


Anyone see in good deals? I did google. But didn't see anything worth getting out of bed early for

Target has one in their ad this week (ends today). Acer Netbook for $179 with free sleeve. I know alot of stores sold out right away but it wouldn't hurt to call some stores to see if they have any left. I picked up 2 of them on Sunday for DS11 and DD9. I had previously purchased some for about $400 each and while they had better specs I think these will be just fine for what the kids are going to use them for.

I heard these ones were not good to get as they have a Window CE operating system, which doesn't let you do much.

I got my husband one on woot.com about 2 months ago. It was an acer with windows XP for $179. Watch the deals on woot or when they have a woot off. They always have a netbook on during the woot off.

I bought the $179 one at Target for my DH and he wanted it early and it works great. We just loaded Office on it last night and Firefox and no problems. It's a little slower than our other computers but it'll be great for travel since he does so much of it.

Yeah, skip these and the CVS entry, also priced under $100... also running CE. I think under $200 is a realistic expectation especially if this is primarily for e-mail/web/documents.

$189. Toshiba at Best Buy. I've had my mine for 2 yrs with no troubles at all. I have a Toshiba Satellite.

I have had my Acer for a year and a half, no issues. My friend has had hers for about 5 months longer than me, no problems with hers either.

Let's just say that's the computer I'm using at this moment! Sure hope OP jumped on this one...
