My son has just started contacts ..acuvue 1 day moist.
Where do you find the best deal online?

My first tip as a contact wearer, is why did the eye doctor suggest dailies? Those are by default more expensive because you use more. Could it be possible to go up to two week pairs? I order all my contacts through bjs, get a box of two weeks (3 pairs) for $30 a box, and I don't have insurance.

I have to second megsoro in questioning the use of daily wears in a first-time patient. Did your doctor give him trial pairs of other lenses to use and they just didn't work well for your son? Daily wears are expensive and a last resort for disposables. A 90-day supply at the place where I get my lenses would cost $135.

However, if those are the lenses of choice, then ask about rebates. There's a $70 rebate on the 90-day supply for first-time wearers. Check the Acuvue website for details or ask your eye doctor. They should have the rebate forms in the office if they dispense Acuvue there.

Check out Walgreens online. I usually buy from Costco but Walgreens has equivalent prices but they have a 20% discount code on their main contact lens page that is ongoing until September I think.

I order mine from Vision Direct. I get emails from them that offers an additional 20% on my next order so I get just enough. I haven't had any problems with them. I priced out several online companies before ordering from them. I think it depends on what lens you need. Good luck!

I get my son's contacts from Sam's club and could not find them cheaper.

I agree on the 1 day lenses being most expensive. I am guessing but I think some eye doctors get a kick back or make more money off certain brands. I say that because they tried to put my son in the one days and I asked for 2 week lenses and they put him in the most expensive 2 week lenses and the newest on the market. I told them I have worn contacts since I was in 6th grade and wore the same brand for at least 20 years and do well with them and knowing they were a lot less expensive asked the doctor to write the script for that brand. I paid $13.85 a box of 6 and free shipping at Sam's a couple weeks ago for them.

I will add I have tried always ask my eye doctor if she will give me samples of the newest lenses that are made with different material and say they let in more oxygen etc. I wear one of my regular brand and one of the new lenses to see if I can tell a difference and I never have so I stick with my trusty inexpensive lenses.

1-days are actually the lens of choice because there is the lowest chance of infection. Definitely not the only option but a good one nonetheless!

She said daily lenses would be best..he is 14 and is easier then cleaning and less chance of infection

The way I looked at it and I understand that not everyone will feel the same but my son has to learn responsiblity and how to take care of things. We started with a puppy at 13. Then at 16 he got contacts and another opportunity to take care of his things and be healthy having to wash his hands before taking them out and putting them in as well as cleaning them with solution. It takes all of 2 minutes tops and it took him a lot longer to be able to put them in and take them out.

If you take care of the contacts, wash your hands, and don't sleep with them in it is highly unlikely you will get an infection. The only time I ever had issues was when I was a young adult and fell asleep with mine in. They cut my cornea but still never caused an infection.

I always order mine and my son's through Walgreens.com. They always seem to be running a sale. Shipping is always very quick.

Thanks to the poster who suggested VisionDirect
I used their $25 new patient code
Will get the $70 rebate (ordered a years worth)
AND through shopdiscover I am getting an add'l 15%

Total for 1 yrs worth of lenses $238!!

OptiContacts! I have torics and this site has the best pricing that I've found compared to the other "main" sites.

contactlensking.com My eye Dr will price match any site, but not this one b/c they are too low. She said she doesn't understand how they keep their prices so low. I order from them & have had no issues.

I've used replacemycontacts.com several times with no problems, and it's the cheapest I've found so far. Some comparisons for 4 boxes of my DD's prescription (Biofinity Toric; also not taking into account any discounts or rebates):

Visiondirect.com: $199.96, free shipping
Contactlensking.com: $155.80, free shipping
Replacemycontacts.com: $149.60, free shipping
Opticontacts.com: $147.96, free shipping
