Just wanted to say I read my husband your story and he likes it (as do I.)Maryr1 I loved your stories. They were so touching.
Mine was from my dh. (Be warned. Women all love it and men all hate it)
On our 24th anniversary I woke up to 24 balloons in my living room, 23 roses in my dining room with the 24th in our bedroom. Throughout the day there were more presents, 24 in all. Some small, some silly. When dinner came around he sent our sons out to the movies and ordered in some dinner. The last present was a Lennox heart that said "Happy 25th Anniversary". When I looked at it I said "But it's not our 25th". He told me to open it. Inside was a card saying "Will you marry me again?" That night we started to plan our vow renewal for our 25th anniversary.
That was such a special day. All our immediate families came, including some from Kansas City. I remember our oldest nephew running down the street because he was almost late. My gf and her daughter played The Wedding Waltz from the pbs show Civil War. My gf played the guitar and her daughter played her violin. The priest at our church couldn't do the ceremony but my friend's husband was a deacon so he did the service. We had it in our backyard on a beautiful summer day.

Most romantic?
I had a boyfriend fill every empty jar, bottle vase, glass, coffee mug, several bowls and my bathtub with Daisies, my favorite flower. They were every where in my apartment, on every counter, table shelf. He actually stopped on the side of the road where they were growing wild in a field and picked them/ hacked them down with a utility knife, pulled them up by the roots... actually he wasn't my boyfriend until he did this!!!
He also packed a picnic lunch one other day and "kidnapped" me after class, we sat in median of the highway and waved as cars passed by honking at us.![]()

When we moved to Europes one thing I really missed was ICE. You ask for "a lot of ice" when you go out and they give you 3 or 4 little cubes.
We bought ice cube trays for home, but the tiny German freezer did not hold much and I like a LOT of ice in my drinks.
We had a very hot first summer. School here does not let out until the last week in July. DH was travelling almost every week. I was lonely.
One day, the doorbell rang and there was a package for me. DH had found a countertop ice machine for me on Amazon.de and ordered it as a surprise.
BEST. GIFT. EVER.
The fact that he knew i was lonely and knew I missed ice like I could have at "home" and found something I didn't even know existed to help with the ice part and just got it for no special occasion and sent it without saying a word was so sweet and so loving and just made me feel wonderful.

My easter basket this year. My SO had been listening and paying attention to what I liked. He had gone to many specialty stores and bought British treats, perfumes (3), chocolates, plus a bunch more other stuffed all topped with a Minnie balloon. He really put a lot of time and effort into that. After he'd gathered it all up he took it to a florist to make a special basket with flowers. The presentation was beautiful.
My husband donated a kidney for me. It is, by far, the best gift I have ever gotten.
