Best pools open in March

I'm trying to plan a long weekend trip for my son's birthday. We only plan to spend his special day at MK, and hope to lounge around the hotel/pool the rest of the time. I know there are so many renovations right now, and not everything is open still. What are your suggestions for the best place to stay for a family of five that wants to spend most of their time at the resort?

I think for resort days, you can't go wrong with Yacht Club or Beach Club and that pool there. Of course, that's super pricey. I would go with at least moderate so you can access pools whenever you want. And agree with the above poster that Caribbean Beach has a really nice pool area to enjoy, but we also like Coronado Springs.

I also thought about Coronado, but not sure about sleeping 5? I thought only junior suites there would sleep 5 but I could be wrong about that.

Oh sorry, missed that part of the post! For five, yes, they either have to get a suite there or a standard 5th sleeper at CBR.

I am trying to do this on a budget. We are going big for the 50th anny, so I'm pushing our wallet trying to squeeze in this trip too. That said, we've done the budget hotels and I'm ready to move us up a notch.

Is Caribbean Beach even open? It shows as not available on the booking site.

It's open, it's probably just booked up for the 50th Anniversary.

The 50th is in October though, and OP is going looking for March.

OP, Caribbean beach is open but options might be limited with spring breaks.
Man, I'm just not reading things right today! LOL

But still, it's open, just must be booked. I've noticed that availability there is spotty, especially for parties of 5.

A family suite at Art of Animation might also work for you (sleeps 6). It's pricier than a mod probably would be, but less expensive than a deluxe.

Four Seasons Orlando has a very nice pool complex. The rooms are configured in a way that is easy to get a king bedroom connected to another room with 2 queen beds (in previous years they used to be double beds but now they're queens).

That could be. I forget we northerners break at a different time than the southern schools.

I'm also looking at Caribbean beach in March. I'm finding rooms, but only if I don't go for the 30% off discount. So looks like the discounted rooms all booked up.

That makes a lot of sense. I didn't consider that I was looking for the discounted rooms. Thanks!

You could rent DVC. There are some really good deals right now because people can't use their points (i.e. don't want to make the trip right now).
There are some that have reservations already booked and are selling the full reservation (Confirmed Reservations). These can be for a really good deal. However, they are usually reduced when they are within a month away. I see some through the beginning of March for $16/pp or under.
Example: 2 nights in a Boardwalk studio (sleeps 5) at the end of Feb for $492 ($246/night).
So, if you have the flexibility to wait to the last minute, great deals can be had.

Sounds like a cool place.
