Best Pool Walking Distance

We are a family who likes to take breaks back at the hotel during the day.

Considered the Desert Inn, but the tiny indoor pool does not look appealing.

There will be 4 adults and 8 kids (ages 2-15) in our group. We would fill the whole pool :grouphug: if we stayed there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Best within-walking-distance, off-site pool is at the HoJo, hands down.

We really, really, really, like the pool area at the Grand California.

The GCH is great, but I agree that the Hojos is probably best! They have a great pool, and my kids love it!

Besides the 3 DLR hotels, we love hojo's pool. There's actually 2 pools and a kid's wading area. My kids are 6 and 9 and enjoyed it at our last stay there.

We love the pool at the Grand too. We were able to get a rate of $185/night last November and stayed there. What a beautiful hotel. Prices are sky high now though, and we cannot afford it this year.

Thanks for the tips. I think we will look into HoJo's. The walk seemed too far but it might be worth it for the nicer pool.

Thanks everyone!

I think it depends on the time of year you are going, too. In Jan, Feb, early March, late Oct, Nov, Dec, you may want to look at someplace with a heated and/or indoor pool.

We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn next month, and the pool looks beautiful, it's heated and there is also a seperate children's wading pool and a jacuzzi. We intend on making use of those, I'll let you know how they are ;) . Oh, they are located 250 yards from the gate.

I'm intersted in finding out more about the Portofino Inn and their pools, they are supposed to be right across from the parks as well.

Otherwise, it's only what we've seen in pictures.

Last year we did stay at the Desert Inn, but we didn't bring our bathing suits so we didn't try the pool.

HoJos and CCI are the same distance (about half a mile) HoJos has by far the better pool complex, CCI has only a small pool and a childrens wading pool. HoJos does not include breakfast which CCI does. Hojos has only the ART as a shuttle if you don't want to walk, CCI has it own private shuttle. HoJos rooms are bigger than CCIs Premium rooms. Hojos entertainment rate is $60 or thereabouts CCIs will be over $100. If swimming is your thing then definitely recomment HoJos...
