I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best DVC resort pool for a 3 and 4 year old? I think that we will spend most of our time at the pool/play area on our next trip with the grandchildren.
Both SSR and AKV/AKL have a zero entry pool. SSR has a Donald Duck play area.
There are some very scary aspects to SAB for small children. There are very deep areas (8 feet deep) with a swift current. But if you stay in the sandy children's area, you would be fine.
Our DGC loved the pools at VWL for both of the trips they've taken when they were 1,2 and 3 and then this past year 2,3 and 4. Plus it's close to FW, and there's only ponies at the petting area, but still, the kids loved to see the big horses and ponies. There's often deer on the bike trail that connects the 2 resorts.
I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Nothing compares to the and bottom pool at BCV. If this is not an option the Zero Depth pools are good. As mentioned, one at SSR, AKL and Poly.
I know that the pool at VWL was refurbished so I don't know if this has changed, but the only thing I didn't like about VWL was the kiddie pool. The kiddie pool is separate from the larger pool and I found that I couldn't keep my eye on my 2 older kids while watching the 2 year old at the kiddie pool. For that reason, I prefer the zero entry pools.
By the way, SSR and BCV both have great pools, with the sand bottomed pool at BCV being my favorite.
Ds7 says BCV, SSR, WL, respectively. I mean, he didn't say the respectively part, lol. Ds3 loved them all and was fine at SAB, he loved the shallow beach area best!
