Thinking of making 1st DVC trip in May. In your opinion, which is the best resort to stay at for the pool? We are going back in November so not worried about location or the parks too much. The main thing in May would be the pool for DS4 and DD 6months.

Thoughts? Pics?

AKV Kidani is perfect for little ones. It is zero entry, has both a big slide and a baby slide into the pool. And there is a HUGE splash pad/playground area right next to the pool. It's not a massive area like Jambo's pool so it would be very easy to monitor one in the pool and one on the playground at the same time. And at AKV you have the option to use both Kidani and Jambo's pool.

I like the BLT pool area for smaller kids because it is fenced in, has zero entry, has a small slide, has a small fountain area...all in a very compact area. But, I haven't been to AKV and the pics of their pool areas do look nice!

Put my vote down for KIDANI for the little ones. Besides the pool they will love the animals.

Kidani would be my suggestion as well, however don't rule out Saratoga Springs. SSR also has a zero entry and small/baby slide as well as the big slide.

Our 2 year old really enjoyed the SSR pool. For the reasons mentioned above. It was perfect for him.

You can get free life jackets (DVC card needed) at the rental areas at all pools make sure you get one for the kids no matter what resort--and you can take them into the deep parts..

BLT also has a zero entry pool. I think that is the future with Disney pools versus having separate kiddie pools. There are two slides at BLT one is gentle slide. Many have posted that their young children love it. However, your youngest might still be a little young. And it has a water play area.

From the Disney website:

Pools
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort boasts its own beautiful Bay Cove Pool, a zero-entry pool, exclusively for Guests of Bay Lake Tower. The main feature of Bay Cove Pool is a 20-foot high and 148-foot long water slide. There is also a separate ADA approved accessible slide. Near the pool is a children's interactive water play area, whirlpool spa, lockers, changing area and the Cove Bar. Disney-trained lifeguards are on duty during slide operating hours.

Guests of Bay Lake Tower also have access to Bay Lake Pool, a round, quiet pool which is shallow on the outside and deeper in the center, and to the larger pool at Disney's Contemporary Resort, which includes a 17-foot high curving slide.

Or,

Disney's Contemporary Resort features 2 pools adjacent to the marina. The larger pool includes a 17-foot high curving slide and is the perfect place to cool off and have fun. The second pool is a round, quiet pool which is shallow on the outside and deeper in the center. Additionally, there are 2 hot tubs next to the pools to provide you with a haven for relaxation, and a wading pool for little ones.

I agree! We loved the pool at BLT - it was great for our toddler and our older kids. Those pics of the pool at AKL look amazing :yay:

Stormalong bay is great for kids of all ages... the sandbar area is great!

There is a kiddie slide too:

The Beach club also has good QS food at the pool, Beaches & Cream and Hurricane Hanna's.

DS2 loved the Kidani pool. There was so much to do. he especially enjoyed sliding down the smaller slide at the pool.

My kids had a blast in the Kidani pool. We thought it was amazing. Stormalong Bay looked great last year but it was too cold for us to swim so I can't review it on that.

Kids are pretty easy going though - my little one had fun in the kiddie pool at BWV which is nothing special but they love elephants and it has a cute elephant so they were happy :) My 5 year old even went down the big waterslide and had fun in the big pool.

Overall I think Kidani was awesome though and would totally stay there again just for the pool.
