best pool bar

What resort do you think has the best pool bar and why??

We recently stayed at the BWV and loved the pool bar because it was HUGE and they had awesome drinks, plus it had a covered canopy!! Great for when we had a sudden downpour!!

I agree with you. I have long held that the BWV pool bar was the best.

The VWL has a nice one too.

I like SSR's poolbar. It is under a gazebo (kind of) a very large shady area. It has seating at the bar and high top tables around it. Also they don't have those automatic giant drink machines. They make them in a large blender specially. I like them made fresh. BWV was my favorite until I went to SSR.

The pool bar at BWV has the friendliest bartenders and it is a great place to sit and relax. Spacious and great drinks and service.

The pool bar at SSR is also very nice (a little small)! so it VWL (very friendly and very good service)!

Alas, but my favorite has to be the Gurgling Suitcase, while it is much too small, we can always find DVC members to chat with and have a Turtle Crawl!

The kids like to pool hop (and we like to bar hop)

If non DVC resorts are included, the Animal Kingdom Lodge pool bar gets my vote. Lots of seating and great theming (thatched roof). For DVC resorts, BWV gets my vote.

I had one drink at BWV and I decided to never do that again.

the bartender came and found me at least 3 more times to see if I wanted another drink.

One is my limit....

some people can drink all day and not be bothered.

Of course all resorts are included. You guys must think I'm a lush with a post like this, but we like to sit and have a few margaritas while the kiddies are swimming! BTW how is Vero?? It is our home resort but we have never been there!!

The pool bar at the Meadows pool in FW is very nice. Sometimes WDW forgets to tell them to raise their prices (according to the bartender) so in April 2004 that was the cheapest price for a beer at WDW!!!

DVC - Really liked the BWV and the SSR pool bars - my DH had a beer at those both. But non dvc - there isn't anything like having a tropical drink by the pool at the Poly.... ahhhhhhh

SSR gets my vote for the way its sits by the pool, but I would like to throw in the Poly Resorts inside and outside bars, for there tropical beauty.

Stuart, Kendra and Carrie at the WL pool are awesome.So glad to hear we are not the only bar hoppers. HH is tough if you want a good mixed drink because of SC law and the one nip bottle thing.But I am a beer girl so any bar will do.

I agree! The Uzima Springs pool bar is a big-time favorite with me and DW. And that's even after watching our beloved Red Sox lose to the hated NY Yankees in the American League Championship back in 2003 (and we went home the day after they lost it all ). We went back in April 2005 and still enjoyed our drink there, despite the negative associations; tho oddly enough, after 2004's World Series win, those old ghosts seem to have dissipated

I like Leaping Horse Libations too, but I agree with conciergekelly, that I'd prefer a fresh drink, rather than those big drink machines.
