Best pool bar??

Planning a weekend "resort only" stay at the end of our Universal trip. We always leave WDW wishing we had spent more time at the resort and pool. We will spend 3 nights just hanging around and swimming. Last trip, we stayed at AKL and really enjoyed the frozen drinks and being able to relax at the pool while the kids swam. What pool is the most relaxing.......what resort has a great pool bar?? Thanks!!

I am bumping to get you an answer to this question. I want to know too. I really liked the pool at WL but was unclear whether or not there was a bar at it as we weren't staying there.

My all-time favorite is the Polynesian. It has a thatched roof and it's between the pool and the beach. You can see the castle and feel the breeze off Bay Lake. I love the pina coladas here -- so yummy in the tropical environment. When I sit here and sip one I always feel like I am having some of the best moments of my life... You can keep an eye on your kids from the tables near the bar.

Wilderness Lodge DOES have a nice bar too, also between the lake and the pool, but somehow the pina colada didn't taste as good as the ones at the Polynesian!

This is a toss up for me but the pool bar at the Boardwalk(Leaping Libations I think) was fun and convenient and we had a great bartender butthe Trout Pass Pool Bar at Wilderness Lodge has to win out because of the Lodge Fizzes. MMMMMMM!!!

My friend poohbear1029 posted this recipe for Victoria Fall Mist over in the Cooking and Scraping forum and I thought there just wasn't any better sounding drink than this and I would love to sit at the AKL pool and drink it: (by the way do you have the recipe for Lodge Fizzes?)

VICTORIA FALLS MIST
(ON THE ROCKS)
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Boma

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients:

¼ ounce Van de Hum Tangerine Liqueur
½ ounce Midori Melon
¼ ounce Banana Liquor
¼ ounce Citrus Juice
Splash Sprite



Method:

Mix together and serve over ice.



Note: May substitute Grand Marnier for the Van de Hum Tangerine Liqueur.

I had that drink at the AKL, castlegazer......and it was yummy! Thanks for all your feedback....we have a snow day up here and I am just imagining sipping any of these tropical drinks while enjoying the pool!

Had a Victoria Fall Mist last Friday while waiting for our PS at Boma - THEY WERE REALLY GOOD!!

I agree the Poly pool bar is well placed next to the pool and the beach!!

Oh my gosh....we sat and sipped these by the pool all day when we were there! Can't wait to swing thru and try one again this week!
