What is the best planning book? i have Birnbaums 2006 but it pretty much seems the same as my 2004 one. I want one where i can write down all my information.. thanks

Try the Passporter by Jen and Dave Marx. It has "Pass Pockets" for recording your info plus a pocket to put receipts and such into. It comes in a spiral-bound form or the deluxe edition is in binder form (about the size of a Daytimer appointment book). The pages are replaceable in the deluxe edition and you can remove what you don't need. I love mine and I've ordered the annual update every year.

I have to agree with the previous post. I just got the Passporter deluxe from Amazon.com. Great book and great price. It was cheaper for me to order it from Amazon than direct from the Passporter website. There is spots in the book for budgeting and planning. (They suggest you write in pencil till you firm up your plans.)

Highly recommend The Passporter!! :thumbsup2

I've been using tourguidemike website, there's a lot of good information, planning information and helpful people to answer all your questions. :thumbsup2

The unofficial guide to WDW, is pretty good in my opinion.
Check some titles at your public library, and buy the one that you like the most for your trip.

:)

i bought the unoffical guide and the Birnbaums one but i really didnt get any good information out of them, that i couldnt get from this site.

i might go buy the passporter next

I really like the Passporter. It tells you a little bit about every attraction. It is really hard to hit everything and there is no sense wasting time on the things that you don't want to.

Have my kid go through it too and mark what they want to see for sure too so I am not making all the decisions.

I get a lot more information off here but it is a good reference point. I write what I learn from this site in the book.

You can buy the book on line www.passporter.com or I picked it up at my local AAA office and saved the shipping.

Good Luck!

I bought the regular, spiral bound Passporter at B & N. I love it! It's like a tour guide/planner hybrid. There's tons of info about the parks and resortds and also places to write everything down, save documents, etc. :thumbsup2

I like the Unofficial Guide. I do all my research well ahead of time and condense the info down into something very small and portable. I made my own laminated "pocket cards" for our daily itineraries (including reservation numbers for dining, etc.). I'm such a geek!

I looked at the Passporter, but didn't want to lug anything that big around with me. I did bring the UG to WDW with me as a reference tool, but left it in the hotel room (didn't carry it around) and paged through it as needed the night before we went to a specific park.

I enjoy UG but for the most up to date information, TourGuideMike is hard to beat! He's in the parks almost every day and will update you when anything changes. There is a lot of reading and it can be a bit confusing to navigate the site at first but it gets easier!

Warning, a lot of people have mistaken the site as a "we will make your itinerary for you" type deal, but the site it for you to get as much info as possible so that you will know what is best for you and your family/situation thus making your planning strategy easier.

There's a money back guaranty (sp?) if you don't like the site so there's no risk in signing up!

PASSPORTERS IS THE BEST I HAVE USED IT THE PAST THREE YEARS IN A ROW AND I AM USING IT THIS YEAR ALSO. :tink:7WKS 5 DAYS UNTIL NEXT WDW ::MickeyMo TRIP

I probably got most of my information from these boards. But I highly recommend the Deluxe Passporter for keeping track of all your info. I updated it each night and put receipts for the day, etc. in it. It was great to review when we got home. I'm ordering more refill pages for my next trip.

I love the UG as well, but after reading this, I am going to buy the passporters and compare!

I used the Passporter as my management system while I was there. The pockets were great for storing receipts, itineraries, tour guides, etc. and recording notes/details. It also has fold out maps of each park and a very user-friendly list of all of the attractions.

However, I also printed out touring plans from TourGuideMike and shrunk them on the copier until they were small enough to fit in the passporter pockets (pocket size). I stuck the touring guide for each park on the specified day and identified an extra pocket for misc. information like "best days", etc. so that I would have it all with me. It was great to read over while standing in lines for buses and attractions (although we didn't wait in many lines thanks to TGM- His plans really work!) and quickly slap the elastic back on to keep everything in place.
