We are heading to the "World" on 9/21 with the free dining plan. We are staying at ASMO this time around. Question, since this is our first time using the dining plan, where are the best places to use your CS meal credit to get the most food for your credit? Any ideas would help.

Thanks so much. popcorn::

Well, we haven't tried them all, but since we're heading down on the 18th, we've been doing all sorts of reading. We're planning on hitting the following CS's if they fit into our touring plans.....

Sunshine Seasons at The Land in Epcot
Pepper Market (We're staying at CSR)
Tommorrowland Noodle Station
Flame Tree BBQ

Plus a whole bunch of places in World Showcase. We're definitely planning on using the CS credits to eat things out of the ordinary for us!!

When we went two years ago, we didn't do a "good job" of maximizing our snack credits. This time, we plan on saving a bunch for FWF, and using many for better dessert type items from Main St. Bakery, etc. We love Mickey Bars, bottled water, and popcorn, but there are soooooo many better ways to spend the credits!!

:thumbsup2 Pepper Market at CSR: Here you can get prime rib with a horseradish drizzle (or a grilled ribeye) with grilled veggies & a baked potato with all the toppins'-all for a CS credit!

:thumbsup2 Tangierine Cafe in EPCOT/Morocco: The Shawarma Platter is fantastic! Lamb, chicken, couscous, tabbouleh, hummus, morroccan bread & baklava. Yumm!

Yeah, that's right! I forgot about Tangierine.....can't find any decent Shawarmas around our town......

Can....Not....Wait.

You'll find that most CS options give you plenty of food per person. Here are the ones we've been to while on DDP that we felt we got more food than we could finish:

  • La Cantina de San Angel in Mexico
  • Backlot Express at DS
  • Earl of Sandwich at DTD
  • Flame Tree BBQ at AK
  • Restaurantosaurus at AK
  • Good's Food to Go at OKW

In addition, I have a couple tips to offer to get the most from the CS meal without feeling like you've over-eaten or wasted the food you're entitled to on the DDP:

  1. Where there is an option to have substitute veggies or fruit on an entree, do so. This trip, we'd get one entree with fries or chips, and with the other entree we'd get carrots or apple slices. Then we'd split the fries & share the veggies or fruit.
  2. When possible get at least one pre-packaged dessert that you don't eat during the meal. For instance, we got a Strawberry Parfait at Backlot Express and a packaged chocolate chip cookie. We shared the parfait and took the cookie with us to split as a snack later. That way we could use the snack credit for a beverage vs. getting another sweet treat.
  3. Several CS restaurants include entree-sized salads on the menu, so if you're sick of the typical "fast food" choices, have a big salad instead. I did this a couple times and was glad I did. The salad filled me up but I didn't feel bloated from all the greasy food.
Have a great trip and enjoy using DDP!

I've never had this but if you go to Cosmic Rays in MK you can get a 1/2 chicken and rib combo meal with I think it comes with 2 sides and that is a CS meal.

Check out http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm for all the menus in the parks, resorts and DTD.

P.S. Love Flame Tree BBQ

We really liked the CS in France, you get:

1 croissant sandwich or quiche
1 pastry (to die for)
1 drink

We also like Columbia Harbor House in MK.

Anywhere air conditioned :lmao:

Those are the best for us. Here is where we ate last year:
cosmic rays
sunshine seasons
backlot express
earl of sandwich
pepper market
tusker house :sad2: not there anymore
