Best places to stand to watch Fireworks?

. We've actually been one of those obnoxious people going against the flow to get to the Carnation Plaza for the swing band with a stroller..never again.

This made me laugh!

Loving all these suggestions. Fireworks will be early (8:40) but the kids will be on Central time, still, so hoping they don't melt down on me!

Last year we got a great spot on the curb right in front of the castle. They did not make us stand for the fireworks. :confused3

How funny Piglet - we are arriving Jun 8 as well (myself and DD 10yrs old) and we are planning on go to DL to watch the fireworks that night and then to Minnies for breakfast on Thursday morning!!! We are also on Central Time so 9p might be a bit late but getting up in time for the character breakfast meal will be easy! Have a GREAT time on your trip!

You too! See you at Minnie's. :cool1:

(We'll be the ones with the double stroller. Lol)

Getting some fireworks viewing tips for our trip June 28 to July 3. I know... July 4th weekend (not too mention Canada Day which falls on July 1st) so a busy week, but it's the only time off we had.

I have seen "Magical" twice on 2 different trips and both times, Tink and Dumbo didn't fly. When we asked a CM about it afterwards, she said "Oh... Tink and Dumbo had to go to a tea party with Alice this afternoon and didn't make it back in time for the fireworks".

Without missing a beat, my 5 year old niece said "Well, you should buy them watches so they can check the time" :rotfl:

Anyway, we found out the real story behind both "no fly" incidents was that it was too windy. I have to say, it didn't seem windy to me, but where I'm from, anything less than 80 mile per hour gusts is a light breeze.

So I'm really hoping "Magical" will be on during the time we're there and we'll finally get to see Tink and Dumbo fly.

Any chance they will cancel "Magical" and just do the July 4th fireworks leading up to that day, or do they only do those fireworks on actual Independence Day?

Where is the best spot for viewing Dumbo when he flies?

Thanks for the info gang! :thumbsup2

So if I want to see the fireworks and then head over to see the late showing of Fantasmic do I need to be on the left side of the castle? I'm concerned about trying to get through masses trying to exit the park.

During July 1st to July 4th, DL will be showing Disney's Celebrate America: A 4th of July Concert in the Sky Fireworks. Magical will not be running on those days during Disney's Celebrate America Firework nights. Here is the park schedule for next month: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/park-hours.cfm?month=7&year=2011

The best spot to see Dumbo fly is right in front of SB castle.

This is the best way to get from the Hub after the fireworks and then head over to the ROA for the 2nd show of F!. If you are around the Frontierland entrance, you should have no problem getting through the crowds since you will have to wait around the area until the CMs let the guests in for the 2nd show. The only problem from watching the fireworks on the left side of the Hub is that the trees from Carnation Plaza Gardens can obstruct the view of the fireworks.

Thanks very much.

So we better try see Magical on the first night or two of our trip.
July 4th fireworks on Canada Day? How dare they ;) :rotfl:

We staked a spot in front of the Castle on our trip last year... sat there for hours and then found ourselves squished by a gazillion people with light up balloons in front of our faces and feeling claustrophobic while not being able to see a thing. Not sure I would attempt that again anytime soon.

I heard that Dumbo actually flies "behind" the castle and so the best place to see him above you (actually waving his trunk at you) is to be behind the castle, but I don't know if this is actually the case :confused3
