where on the boat is the best place for quiet and a good place to just relax?

thanks

I like to run around a lot, but DH absolutely LOVED deck 4. It has nice squishy lounge chairs & is open, but shaded. He actually sat there reading Moby Dick (a life-long ambition)! I think mostly he slept. ;)

This time we will have a veranda, so he may hang out there more... :Pinkbounc

Another vote for Deck#4!

Also -- be sure to check out the 'secret' large verandah type area at the AFT of deck #7 --- pics are on Barb and Tony's website at www.castawayclub.com
:)

I also really enjoyed sitting poolside in the afternoon listening to the caribbean music.

For peace quiet and relaxation I'd say the aft of deck 7 verandah. It is absolutely peaceful and VERY relaxing. There are lounge chairs although not cushioned like deck 4's but a great place to relax and collect your thoughts.

Here's another vote for Deck 4! Those old-fashioned, cushioned deck chairs are REALLY comfortable. I often went to Deck 4 planning to read but wound up just watching the sea & the people walking/running laps or dozing off. This also wound up being a family meeting place--all 8 adults in our group enjoyed relaxing here, so I was almost certain to run into one or two of them every time I stopped by.

I had the "secret" aft verandah all to myself one afternoon. The view was great, but the place smelled like the inside of a McDonald's--fast food odors that I assume came from Topsiders just 2 decks up. So I didn't stay long. Also, the door to this area is locked at 11 pm each night. (I can't remember what time in the morning it's opened, but there's a sign on the door.)

Without a doubt - the comfy lounge chairs on deck 4! They have big thick blue cushions on them and are just heavenly. We sat there everyday at some point and read, watched the water, watched the people walking, etc. Very nice.

IMHO, I am for my private verandah...

I had the room right next to the deck 7 deck, I think I saw 2 people on that deck the whole cruise....we used it as a place to let my 2 year old run around and not bother anyone....not many people use that deck

The big, plush leather chairs in the atrium were incredibly relaxing on sea days because there wasn't the wind that you get on deck 4. I read a lot there. Also, on port days there was almost no one there and it was very quiet with the exception of the Christmas music they had playing (we cruised in December). Plus, the tree and other decorations in the atrium were very well done.

If you are an early riser (like me), try forward on deck 10. One morning as my DH and DS were still sleeping, I went up to deck 9 and made myself a cup of tea. Then I went forward to deck 10. There were only a 4 or 5 other people sitting on the lounge chairs. We all sat and watched the sun rise. There is only a plexiglass wind shield infront of you. I felt like we were on top of the world.:)

Next to the pool with your favorite cold beverage ( If you like the sun ). otherwise there are deck chairs on the lower decks, your verandah ( if you have 1 )

I found every one of the places that have been mentioned relaxing at one time or other. Getting up early is amazing how few, if any, people are up. I felt like I was the only one on the ship at 6:15 every morning except for a few workers cleaning. They are very polite. Almost all of them would say a quiet good morning and go about their work. They won't talk to each other even if they were working together. I felt this was nice. They didn't break the quiet of the sunrise. Oh, how I miss the cruise.

Anyway, another place I found suprisingly quiet was topsiders in the evening after supper. Someone else came back when I was there and made that same observation. They were suprised how peaceful it was. Oh no here I go again- thinking about how relaxing the cruise is. Boy, do I miss it! :(

It's a long time until August 2003.
