What are the most cost effective places to eat using the meal plan? We have the 3 day meal plan. We plan on going to the Blue Bayou we will have to pay extra.

Something to keep in mind with the DL meal plan is that it is NOT like the WDW meal plan where you actually get a certain number of meal credits. With the DL plans, the only things you get voucher type things that are all-inclusive are for character meals. The rest of the meal plan is basically like gift certificates worth a certain dollar amount, with some of them only being good for certain things, like snacks. I used the DL meal plan on my last trip to DL with my son and it really didn't save money, I just used it for the convenience of having some of my meal expenses prepaid. One of the vouchers, Breakfast in the Park, we used at the buffeteria/tray slide place near Frontierland.....the name escapes me right now, but anyway, we didn't even get the most expensive breakfast entrees but our 'breakfast in the park' vouchers didn't cover the entire amount.

Was it Riverbelle Terrace?

Another note - Breakfast in the Park is NOT Minnie's breakfast - FYI, that's a common misconception because of the names.

Meals - Goofy's Kitchen for the dinner is the most expensive meal, and that is the value of your voucher and what you have paid. If you use it anywhere else, you do not get change or credit back, you just tipped the program very very nicely.

I do not like Disneyland's meal plans at all and wouldn't purchase one under any circumstances. If it were me in your shoes, I'd either be very careful planning things out and make advance reservations as well - or I'd ask to exchange them for Disney dollars or a Gift Card.

yes, it was Riverbelle Terrace! Thanks! I could picture the place totally, but I just couldn't remember the name.

I wish DL would get meal plans like WDW meal plans, those can work out to be a really great value, but I wouldn't do the DL meal plan again.

I agree, DL really needs to work on that, but all the costs at DL seem to be higher than WDW. I really want to try WDW soon just because of that!

I really do like Riverbelle Terrace though, slow, but it's got great kid foods and the adult food isn't too bad either. Never done their breakfast yet, we're always cramming in character meals.
