Best places to eat in Downtown Disney?

We have our first trip to DLR coming up this summer. We are having difficulty trying to find out where to get a quick, counter service breakfast early before the parks open at DLR. We are staying at DLH and the only thing we see is the Coffee House which has pastries. It looks like we may have to walk over to GCH and get a biscuit sandwich at Whitewater Snacks at 7 a.m.

We enjoy spending money on big lunches or dinners rather than breakfasts, but we like to have something more than a muffin and coffee. DTD restaurants don't serve breakfast until after parks are open. Any ideas to get a hot, quick breakfast before park openings?? :confused3

That is the one downside of staying on-site. Not a lot of food choices in the morning. Our trick is to order room service. We stay at PPH, and they have a breakfast for about $16. that has juice, coffee, eggs, potatoes, meat, and toast, or pastry. My family of four orders that and shares it, as none of us are huge breakfast eaters, but need a bit of protein before hitting the parks. We also are coffee drinkers and need that hit before leaving the room. We usually order an extra coffee with extra cream, and leave it in the fridge when we go out. Wha-La Iced coffee for afternoon break:)

That's a great idea! I just figured that room service would be outrageously expensive. Room service could save time and make it a bit more relaxing too for the family. Thanks.

Love this idea... we tried (to no avail) to have a quick breakfast one morning in DTD before the park opened... well, we ended up at La Brea with not much protein on their menu at 7:30 and had to eat in line for an 8 am opening... cause the earliest they open is 7:30. So this time, it is either a 7 am character breakfast for us... or room service!
