Best places to eat at downtown disney?

We did Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex on our trip and liked them both pretty much equally for food. Very similar menus. Not the best food we had, but far from the worst. Probably preferred the atmosphere in T-Rex, and both can be very loud at times.

The best thing about T-Rex was the crack-your-own-geode in the shop. Kids loved it. Range of size/price geodes to buy (about $10 up), and you get to crack it open yourself with a rock splitter.

Love WPE - especially the rotisserie chicken.

T-Rex was fine - just Rainforest Cafe food in a different setting (although I'd avoid sitting in the ice cave section if you don't want a headache...)

Hummmm I have this as an oop adr for the night we arrive.......is it possible to just go into trex and sit at the bar and have drinks?? If so I think I might cancel the adr and swap it for a kona cafe breakfast oop....?

We always sit at the bar and get the sharing platter and a few drinks. Never had a bad time there.

Yes you can, If I remember rightly UKDEB has posted before saying they sat at the bar for drinks and food.
Personally I could never eat a full meal on arrival day, usually we pick up a few bits from the supermarket, crisps, etc or at most we ate at McD's, I think its a mixture of tiredness and excitement very few people eat a full meal that first evening.
I knew I saw it somewhere!! Thought I was starting to loose the plot with all the Disneyness floating around in my head :rotfl2::rotfl2: Good advice, im really going into this trip blind so tips like that are very much welcomed :grouphug:

We have been to t-Rex before also and I loved the atmosphere, food wasn't too bad but I still prefer rainforest cafe!
