So we intend on eating in a few places down there and was wondering what the best places are.

We will be doing rainforest cafe (just because I love that place, food, atmosphere, everything). But where else is worth a visit? We are not fussy eaters, there are 3 of us going, my partner won't eat fish though but me and my mum love it :-)

Personally we really like Wolfgang Puck Express and the Earl of Sandwich. The garlic mash in WPE is out of this world and I think their pizza's are some of the best on resort. Also very fond of their breakfast pancakes! Earl of Sandwich is great to pop into as there is a lot of choice and its made to order and very fresh..it can be VERY busy though. The Rain Forest Cafe I also like but not so much the DTD one more the AK one.:)
OH and the milkshakes/malts at Ghirardelli's are def the best on resort IMO..:thumbsup2

We had a lovely meal at House of Blues in August :thumbsup2

I have also heard good things about Paradiso 37 and we intend to try that next trip.

If you flick thru my last live trip report there are pics of food we ate at Paradiso37, Trex, HoB, Bongos, Portobello, Raglan Rd & WPE

Eaten at EofS before, many like it we didn't, found sandwich was dry and not great value on DDP, especially comapred to next door at WPE but others love it so try for yourself.

We've eaten there a few times and I don't think anything else, even in the parks, has edged in front of it us our first place favourite TS restaurant. :thumbsup2

Raglan Road is good. T Rex, was, IMHO, disgusting food. For that type of thing we thought Rainforest Cafe was better.

Planet Hollywood maybe for atmosphere more than the food as we've always thought its just ok food but the place itself is good :)

For TS we like Raglan Road, Rainforest and Paradiso 37
For CS - WPE

We avoid Planet Hollywood like the plague

Oooh how bad is Trex???? Planning on going here our first night I guess more to see it and the bar etc but like is it really that nasty?

We were not over impressed but others really like it, just try for yourself.

Well if you like fish then it HAS to be Fulton's and they do a mean ribeye steak as my carnivorous son will attest to

We liked T-Rex, have eaten there several times. The food is tasty and there's plenty of it. Each to their own, try it at least and make your own mind up :)

We also went to 'see it' and it's obviously just my opinion, but we all genuinely thought the food was nasty. Massive portions granted but I'd rather have had a small portion of something edible! Others do like it so don't let me put you off. It is however one of only two places at Disney I would say don't even bother trying if I were advising someone I knew. The other would be Hollywood and Vine. We ate there twice in case the first time was an off day. It wasn't. The animatronics are cool at T. rex and the service was good.

Hummmm I have this as an oop adr for the night we arrive.......is it possible to just go into trex and sit at the bar and have drinks?? If so I think I might cancel the adr and swap it for a kona cafe breakfast oop....?

Based on food quality, I'd choose Kona in a heartbeat. Sorry though I can't recall if there is a bar to sit at for T-Rex.

Thanks a mill! Yea I think ill try for kona....I was certain I saw in someone's trip report having drinks at the bar but they may have been getting food after.

We actually really like Planet Hollywood, love the atmosphere and have NEVER had a bad meal there,
We normally go 1 or 2 times each trip!

If you like rain forest cafe then you might really enjoy Trex we went for the 1st time this trip ( previous yrs it wasn't on the DDp ) we loved it so much we went back again! It can be noisy but no worse the RFC! I had a fab seafood dish I can't remeber why it was called but it had a few different bits plus steak really good, I like things that are not the norm and so the theming of Trex to me was great :)

Yes you can, If I remember rightly UKDEB has posted before saying they sat at the bar for drinks and food.
Personally I could never eat a full meal on arrival day, usually we pick up a few bits from the supermarket, crisps, etc or at most we ate at McD's, I think its a mixture of tiredness and excitement very few people eat a full meal that first evening.

DTD favourites - House of Blues, Raglan Road, Ghirardelli's, Earl of Sandwich

Didn't like - TRex

Restaurant choice is such a personal thing though. :thumbsup2 I like Rainforest Cafe, but hubby said he hated it after one visit...
