Best Places to Do Work at the Resorts?

Hey everyone! I live in Orlando and am able to work remotely. I have always wanted to try spending the day working from the resorts, and was just wondering if anyone has recommendations on some good spots to post up with a laptop? I'm thinking patios, lounges, common areas, etc (bonus points if they have electrical outlets). Thanks for any tips!

The Belle Vue lounge at Boardwalk was a great place to set up when we needed to during our trip last year. It’s closed but the space is available and just out of the way enough to be quiet.

I love this idea. So have you considered Tom Sawyer Island? Or off the path at Epcot? But I say, if you have noise canceling headphones if you’re on zoom or need to concentrate, why not go for it and do it right in front of the castle or something of that nature. You know. Really go for it. Be in the middle of the magic.
But if you need less distraction, I used to have to do some work when we would go and would sit on the swing on the beach at the Beach Club. Very peaceful and again, still feel immersed in the magic.

At wilderness lodge on the floors that have the smaller fireplaces inside the main lobby

Lots of quiet nooks at AKL. I think CR also has a business center, though I'm not sure what's available there. Maybe they have some conference rooms?

Listen, I would happily sit in the main lobby at WL any day to work... Rocking chairs in front of the fireplaces... the sound of the "spring" bubbling up and flowing outside... and it the weather is at all decent (It's currently snowing *hard* here, and the temp is hovering around zero degrees, so sunny and 50 sounds like paradise LOL) I would sit either on the Roaring Fork patio, or down at Geyer Point where beverages and foods are available, but that's just me.

Another outdoor location is if you could grab a cabana at Poly - those are just charming, and I love the ambiance there. Plus, Dole Whip, so you can't go wrong!

And there are *tons* of beautiful spots around Disney Springs - the patio at Sprinkles is one of my favorite places to grab a bit of shade and sit for some Grade-A people watching!, as well as the little patio area behind the Starbucks on the lake side.

Have fun, and let us know where you worked, and how it went!!!

Per DisneyTouristBlog: We also appreciate that the Beach Club Villas have plenty of their own amenities. Just past the lobby of the Beach Club Villas, you’ll find two of my other favorite quiet areas in Walt Disney World: the Drawing Room (above) and the Breezeway (below). The Drawing Room is like a mini-Community Hall, with a billiards table, television, and other things in it. I’ve spent two-plus hours in here working, and never had anyone else walk in.

The Breezeway is used by guests to access the quiet pool. It's got a nice vibe.

The Drawing Room is off to the side and we never saw anybody in there the whole week we were there. If you'd like room to space out while you work without much distraction, this could work.

Really, if you live in Orlando, you don't even need a room necessarily. You can hit all the different lounge areas at the resorts. Sounds like alot of fun! :) Some are very quiet.

When I have to do work while at a WDW resort, I much rather do it outside, weather permitting of course. Luckily, I do not need a lot of quiet to do my work, noise rarely distracts me, this excludes sitting by the pool while they play games and songs. LOL So sitting on a shaded bench or gazebo at POR/POFQ by the river, or facing the lake at CSR or CBR etc. If I want to work inside, then I will take a resort with a great lobby, like WL, AKL or GF. I just make sure both my laptop batteries are fully charged:)

Add on: I forgot to mention that I never use the "public" resort wifi and have my own MiFi for security.

Fun topic. I am no stranger to having to "dial-in" on vacation and I'm excited to learn about other favorite spots. As remote work is more and more common, really no reason not to work from WDW! I am close enough to drive and I have traveled with a docking station and monitor to make work in the room easier.

I am usually in the EPCOT resort area so my answers largely reflect that. Hopefully there are more and more common area spots that are good for working. Some of my favorite resort spots are the Solarium at the Beach Club (plentiful outlets - different than the Beach Club Villas spots posted above - though those are great too), Crews Cup Lounge (not currently open - but when it does open there's an outlet next to the table all the way to the right upon entry), Martha's Vineyard lounge before it opens (several outlets), Belle Vue lounge as mentioned above. Agree with the alcoves at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge mentioned above - not sure about outlets there. Convention area at Contemporary is often very quiet and another option (typically couches and chairs - not a table/desk set-up). Sometimes can grab an umbrella table at a quiet pool and jump on wifi. Of course can rent a cabana for day and that's another way to go! Club level lounges are also a fun place to work if/when those come back into play.

Nook on the 4th floor, Wilderness Lodge (sorry, I never can figure out how to turn photos the correct way

Before the shut down I’d work at Disney once or twice a week.
I loved doing the monorail loop, sitting on the turf grass at the Poly and enjoying a dole whip, sitting outside the grand flo quick serve in the shade, and going to level 2 (or was it 3?) of the contemporary as it’s so quiet with lots of seating! (Contemporary has charging ports)

port Orleans was another favorite, eating beignets and then typing away right outside of scat cats. It’s pretty empty there in the Mid mornings. There’s charging ports.

there’s this hallway at beach club (right across from the quick serve). It leads to a coffee breakfast room, but during the afternoons the room and the hallway are mostly empty. There’s charging ports!

I worked twice at the library in Riveria, but it’s so small and gets busy quickly.

During the summer I enjoy the AKL and wilderness lodge lobbies. It’s a fun resort to explore and I recommend walking around and looking for seating, sometimes on other floors.

Aren’t those areas for resort guests? I didn’t realize that was a public area.
I have no idea. I don't think that there are signs in the individual "nooks" that say "for resort guests only"

I just figured as they aren’t part of the public lobby area they were for resort guests 🤷‍♀️

We stay often at WL, and while those lovely little nooks are not "advertised" in the Lobby, as far as I know they are open to anyone "visiting" the Lodge - which would include our OP! 🙂 Just like the Belle Vue Lounge at Boardwalk - which we visit and relax in for a bit every time we are at the Boardwalk (because it really is a hidden little gem!) 🙂

Anyone can "visit" a Disney Resort, and take advantage of shopping, dining and public spaces. I think the things that are off-limits (for Guests only) are the pools, gyms, DVC Clubhouses, and Club Level Clubrooms.

Ok, but I think the areas that are not off the lobbies and require you to go up elevators, and past guest rooms really aren’t public areas 🤷‍♀️
