Where is the best place to watch Stars and Motorcars parade? We caught it a couple of years ago near where the main street intersects with the street that goes toward ToT. Is it better from somewhere else? Also, is Darth Vader still in it. DS6 has a serious DV jones, and seeing him in that parade it at the top of DS' 'to-do' list for our next trip

Just outside of Indy. There's usually not so many people there and it's right at the head of the parade route. If you're lucky you might be able to snag a chair or two at Backlot Express' outside dining area and actually sit down and enjoy it! It's in the same area right next to the route as well.

Thanks for asking and answering this one, guys! We have never seen this parade and are determined to see it in August. DS would love to see all the Star Wars people, too.

Our favorite spot is right when it starts by Star Tours. While my DH and DS's ride Star Tours, I sit down and take a break and have a front row spot. We've been doing this for years. :)

Yup - that's ours as well. It's great because, like you said, it's where it starts so as soon as it ends you are free to go while the rest of the crowd is still watching it. It's also pretty shady in this area if you sit across the street from Star Tours.

we like to watch the MGM parade next to the old ABC studio where Doug used to be. There are a bunch of statue busts of famous people, and there are some benches there to sit on. Its usually shady there too. Its on a nice striaght stretch, so you can see them coming for awhile. Great spot!

Thanks for the replies. I suspected that we were probably not at the best spot, and this confrims it. Given DS' interest in SW, I think sitting right across from Star Tours will be a great spot for us. Man, I don't know how I would plan w/o the DIS

We were facing Indy, in front of Sounds Dangerous. It was a great spot to watch S&MC. There's little shade in that area, unless you sit waaay back away from the parade route under the roof. Previously, in 1999 when the parade was Mulan, we were over by Star Tours. I don't know if I would choose one spot over the other, having only been there twice.

On the steps of teh ABC theatre. Great place to sit.
