My family and I have always followed the first advice we got for where to stand for watching Wishes. Every visit we would find a spot along the path that veered off the Eastern side of the hub and it was 'our' spot for our favorite show.

With the addition of some pretty amazing projection now with Happily Ever After, I am interested to know where that 'perfect' spot is, imagining that you'll likely want to be more in the hub than before.

Anyone seen the show and have a spot preference?

Looking forward to seeing it in person. The video that Craig shot is amazing.

Same as Wishes.
Your spot "along the path that veers off the Eastern side of the hub"
(the hub end of the bridge to Tomorrowland) is still good.

However, as with Wishes, the more centered to the castle you are, the overall
"framing" will be better.
The sweet spot will be between Casey's and the Plaza.

Don't stand too close to the castle.
And, don't go too far up Main Street.

Wow! thanks for the map. I will definitely use this for my Trip in November. I imagine, now, even more than for wishes, it is critical to get a view of the front of the castle where most of the projections will be visible.

To an extent, it may be a trade off to get a little further down main street where the viewing is not as optimal in order to exit the park quickly. I heard getting out after fireworks can be difficult, to say the least.

Many experienced visitors don't exit right after the fireworks.
There is little reason to do so.

Just find a nice spot to sit down for a half-hour or more and let everyone else
fight to push and shove out of the gates and into too-crowded transportation waiting areas.

Why exit the park quickly? Hang back and let the crowds thin out.

ETA: Looks like Robo beat me to it. ;)

How would the view be from the water? Thinking of doing a fireworks cruise.

Were just there, saw Wishes, then stayed for the projection show. We always find front and center of castle to be 'the' only place we'll watch it. We never 'stake' a place out way in advance either. Go in about 15min. before and always get a spot. It's 'wall to wall' people no matter if you get a spot early or not. And, unless someone puts a child on their shoulders last min. everyone can see great!! If we get 'blocked', we just jostle a little until we can see.

The projection show is 'waayy' better than the old one - just super great!!
A large majority of people leave right after the fireworks, so not hard to see the projection show at all. (at least that was our experience the first part of May - I'm a shortie too!!!)

can you see the projections pretty good from the green areas or is it better in the hub?

The green areas are considered part of the hub.
(The entire open area in front of the castle is generally considered "the hub.")

The green areas are the best places to see the entire show.

If you are one of the first out, could it even be possible to beat the crowds heading out? If you could be one of the first out, the benefit I would see is just that you get to get back to the hotel to relax a little sooner. It's not a big deal, just a thought.

Nope.

I don't know if I agree with this map for this specific show. I watched from next to the partners statue and found the fireworks to be better than wishes, they are larger bursts that are aren't fully obstructed by the castle, many are higher in the sky, there is a lot coming from the castle and next to it that are also higher in the sky.. I think disney addressed the view with this update and raised them up to help get more great viewing spots.

Because of the projections and how small some characters are, I think the area between the partners statue and the start of what you have as green might be the new great viewing and I would say further back your looking at good viewing now. Of course the map is 1000% accurate if your looking for the best fireworks view, but a mix of close enough to see little details and far enough back to see fireworks I think has moved forward.

It'll take some time to see what happens as it gets more humid and summer comes so I woudln't change it but I think if you have to be closer it's not a bad thing. now for other shows like mnsshp and mvmcp I would say your map holds true. even 4th of july and nye you probably want to be further back more as those are still fireworks only shows and you want the best view of fireworks.

So if we try to find a spot near the Partners statue we should be ok? We don't have any small children (my 9yo dd is very tall for her age), but we want to make sure we can all see.

How far in advance do you need to stake your spot?

Depends on the crowd-level on your evening there.

45-60 min. my not be too early on many nights.
But, if the MK is overly busy, an hour MIGHT not cut it.

OTOH, depending on where you decide to stand, on some nights 20-30 min. before the show
might be OK.

(How's THAT for not narrowing it down? ;) )

We found seats an hour ahead of time tonight 11/27 and probably should have gotten there at 730. Touring plans had today as a 6.
