We are planning on taking advantage of the BB when we go to Disney next month we will b staying at POR this trip. Next year it will b myself the hubby the MIL a 12 boy 10 and 7 yr old girls I'm unsure where to stay next, should we do AOA suite or stay moderate in two rooms or go back to POP which we loved in 08. Any feedback would b so appreciated

Wait until you stay at POR to decide. POR is our favorite hotel. The boat to downtown is really nice, we love the grounds, and we tend to swim more because the main pool is so nice (and the magic cookie bars in the food court are awesome). One other thing is if we stay for park closing and POR bus line is too long, we hop on POFQ bus, fill up our mugs there, and enjoy a leisurely walk back to our room on the beautiful path.

However, my son loves POP. Says it's more Disney-ish. He is 21 now. I really like POP and one of the main reasons is the food court, but the pool is usually crowded and in the summer months the water is really too warm. One of the best things we found this past summer at POP was the great bus transportation. We almost always waited less than 10 minutes in either direction. That was really nice!

We went to AoA to check it out this summer and it looks cool, but for us it is definately not worth the extra money. We thought the food court had a really strong fish smell from the poo boy sandwich that would bother me.
There are many I am sure who would disagree with me though about AoA.

With a family of Five... I learned quickly it was NOT the bed space however the number of bathrooms that prevented Melt Downs...

So I would take that into consideration... LOL

That being said... We stayed at Animal Kingdom - Kidani Villas....5/27/2012 - 6/2/2012 last visit...ME, DH, DS20, DSGF19, DSD19 and DSD18.

Villas were HUGE... had THREE Bathrooms (the Master Bathroom is awesome)

You and Hubby could get the Master. Girls and MIL share the extra room (Two Double Beds) and son could get the sofa bed in the living room. (they really sleep nine with a pull out chair, sofa bed could sleep 2)

You'll have washer / dryer and full kitchen.

We had Savannah view and the kids LOVED the animals. I really enjoyed a peaceful cup of coffee viewing okapi in the morning.

To keep costs down, either wait for a % off deal (like I did) or rent points from a DVC owner or Dave's ...

Have a magical visit !

Mary

IMO a suite at AoA would be a bit cramped, only 3 beds, everyone would have to share and MIL would be on the pull out or murphy style bed. 2 rooms at a mod or POP would be a good idea, we love POP too!
Have fun!

I'd do either a suite or 2 moderate rooms. I tend to lean toward the 2 rooms mainly for 4 queen size beds and 2 bathrooms. I think the space will make everybody happy
