We're traveling with a two=year old and want to stay somewhere with good access to the parks. Fort Wilderness was our first thought, but it doesn't seem very convinient. Contempo is on the monorail line- is that the best bet?

Thanks!

Hi Jenny and welcom to the DIS!

Easiest park access to the MK is at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian. All are on the monorail.

If you want proximity to Epcot or the Studios, your best bets are Yacht Club, Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan, or Dolphin. You can walk to either park from any of those hotels or you can take a short boat ride.

I would imagine that since you have a little one, you will be focusing on MK? If that's true, then yes, the Contemporary is a good bet. You can walk, via a pathway, to MK. It's about an 8 minute walk. Then, if you want to get to Epcot, just hop on the monorail, transfer to the Epcot monorail line and you're there. I loved staying here.
If you want to focus on Epcot/MGM, then the Epcot resorts are a good bet...Boardwalk, Beach Club/Yacht Club. You can either walk to both parks or take a boat.
You could to either the Polynesian or Grand Floridian for that MK access, but the Contemporary is usually a bit less expensive.
