We are staying SSR in May and are trying to figure out which section is the best to stay in. I've been reading some reviews online and by what I have read, it looks like The Springs, The Grandstand, and Congress Park are the best. Does anyone have any suggestions?

IMHO, Congress Park is the best. (at least for our family). We like it because it has the view of the lagoon...fireworks each night from Pleasure Island (although those might not be nightly right now b/c of renovations), and most of all because we can walk to Downtown Disney. Our family always asks for Congress Park. However, it can be a trek to the pool and Artist's Palette for snacks or refilling drinks. That is just our opinion. Have a great trip!

We like either Congress Park because of the close vacinity to DTD or the Grandstand building. Either building is a great location

I would love to hear others opinion. I am a Bay Lake Member (feels so good to say that) but we are staying at SSR with DPs in September.

My group is four mid-20's adults with no children. Location to Transportation (hate waiting) and a nice view are important. Any recomendations?

Hi,

We like the grandstand section. I has a great quiet pool with a bar and drink station. It also has a cute splash area for kids and is a short walk to the main building and resturaunts. The path is nice, well lit, and about a 5 minute walk. It is also the first bus stop in the complex.....a big plus for us.

Have a great time!

We just stayed at SSR for the first time two weeks ago. We were in Congress Park, and I would not want to stay anywhere else at this resort.

The satellite pool was great, and we loved the easy walk to DTD. We also got to park very close to our building, and there was also a bus stop right out front.

We just got back from a stay at SSR. If you have young kids, you definitely want to be at the Springs--closest to main pool, restaurants, check-in. If you go without kids, probably Congress Park b/c it's closest to Downtown Disney with its nightclubs/bars. If you're worried about wait time or time on the bus.....than there is no good solution. It's a huge resort with 5 bus stops. Springs is last one to be picked up, so you get to the parks relatively quickly. But it's the last to be dropped off also, so it's ~10 minutes extra time on bus with cranky kids (or husbands).

Having said all of that, we absolutely loved SSR. Beautiful resort and great rooms.

We'll be trying the GS in 10 days!!! Heard good things about it.

The first time we stayed at SSR we were in the Paddock and did not mind it at all. We had a view of the water and the bridge to the main area. We walked across that bridge to get to the main pool and restaurants and it was a 5 minute walk we very much enjoyed.

The last time we were there we requested Congress Park and stayed there - walking to DTD was really a nice perk.

We've stayed in Congress Park twice and can't imagine staying anywhere else. It's a 5 minute walk to DTD, a 5 minute walk up to the carriage house and a bus stop right out the front door. There is also a quiet pool for CP, but the main pools are only a short walk up the road.

We stayed in CP twice and really love the views there and the quiet pool. But on our last trip to SSR we stayed in the grandstand and it rocked! My kids loved the pool area there with the water squirters and it is such a close walk to the main pool and food court. I would definately request grandstand again.

Agreed! We really like the Grandstand for the above reasons. We also enjoyed the walk to DTD.

We like the Paddock best. Why? It is the third bus stop so we always get a seat, and are one of the first stops coming back. We've had rooms overlooking the pool area which was nice and last time overlooking the courtyard and river which we liked. The walk to the main area is not bad at all and very pretty and relaxing.
To get to DTD we just hop whatever bus comes first and get off at Congress Park and walk.
We're staying there again in March when it is just the two of us. An added bonus if you have little ones is that there is a playground by the bus stop
