Best place to sit for parade?

I like to sit right in front of the castle, even with an hour plus wait, if the fireworks and parade are important to me. Of course, that depends on the time you have to work with and the people with you. We used to secure that spot about 90 minutes in advance and get turkey legs, but with two small children (and my most recent trip with my 80 yo grandmother) it just hasn't been feasible.

The Wishes Dessert Party is an option if you would like decent viewing, no wait time and an interesting twist with good desserts.

I'd rather not spend any time sitting around "waiting", or at least as little as possible.

We have 3 adults and a 6yr old. Desert place probably not a good idea because 6yr old has lots of allergies.

Dessert party will work with you in regards to the allergies, but I don't know how much variety you will end up with in a multiple-allergic kid... It might boil down to Enjoy Life cookies & fruit.

Are you familiar w/BabyCakes at Downtown Disney? Might have some baked goods your DS can have.

How important is an optimal view for you? For me, lack of waiting outweighs "perfect view," so we usually watch the fireworks in Fantasyland, walking up about 5 minutes before show time. For the parade, we always aim to catch the second parade when it reaches Frontierland - about half an hour after published parade time.

You could also pull FP+ for either/both events, for good views & minimized waiting. HTH!

two parades, go to the latter one. Seating is generally less crowded.

We also use the end of the parade route at the crossover to Splash and BTMRR. They usually block off a section for people to wait and leave room for people crossing prior to the parade.

A look at the Parade Route
Disney's (MS) Electrical Parade and the 3 O'Clock Parade both start near the Firehouse and exit near Splash Mtn.
MVMCP and MNSSHP Parades both start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.

Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents,
or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears.
(But, from there you won't be able to see the new "show" that is actually projected on the front of the Castle,
"Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the fireworks.)
