I have heard that at the beginning of Wishes, you can see Tinkerbell's flight? What exactly is this and where might be the best place to go and be able to see it. In May, we watched Wishes from Cali Grill and I didn't notice anything that resembled what might be called Tinkerbell's flight. I had told my daughters that they would be able to see Tinkerbell flying through and they were disappointed when they didn't see anything:confused3 I should have kept my mouth shut about it when I wasn't sure what I was talking about!

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

Two years ago was the first and only time we're seen Wishes and my DW found us a table and chairs on a little balcony that shows up on the above map right above the letter Y on Dessert Party at the Noodle Station. We were sure surprised when Tinkerbell started floating our way and went right over the top of us not more than 20 feet above where we sat. My DW stood up and waved and Tink looked right at her and waved back!
(She was a lot taller than we thought she would be) ;)
Yes, we're both in our 50's but it was still a thrill!

If you are standing on the walkway that goes from the Hub to Tomorrowland, she will fly right over you.

Enjoy!

Robert

The first and only time I saw Tinkerbell fly right above me, I nearly cried!
And here I was ... Already in my 50's ! LOL !

Tinkerbell doesn't fly all the time. There are certain conditions that will not make it possible for her to fly. Mostly it's the weather and wind conditions.
So expect her to not fly sometimes.

Or rain. We had horrible rain and got soaked, but I wanted to see Tinkerbell fly before wishes, and she didn't :( So I never got to see her fly. So I booked another trip :)

A word of warning: you might not want to see Tink too closely. I swear whenever I have, I want to go all Austin Powers and scream "She's a man, baby!" :scared1: It can take you out of the moment--just sayin'.

DD is just noticing the wire from the castle. And every trip since Feb. she has asked me what it is for...And I just tell her it is for a tightrope walker!! LOL One day she is going to call me out on it I know....But I would like to still believe that Tink really does fly through the sky.

BTW, she does not fly BEFORE Wishes.

She flies DURING the presentation, as part of the show.

How funny. DH and I used to work there, and DH knew a woman who flew as Tink. This was back in the early 90s. She was a very petite, tiny little thing.

Had a great spot at the end of Main Street facing the castle. Best view of Tink we've ever had. Still wonder about Tink being a guy after reading comments.

Is it really a guy? So wrong!

I read somewhere that you had to be under 105 pounds. I can't remember the height requirements but it was small as well. It did not list that the person had to be female which does disturb my DH and my two DSs. I would LOVE to do this!!! My DH says I couldn't because I'd be too scared and they'd never hire me. I'd do it for free in an instant. I'd love it!!!!

We were in the Hub and thought we had a great view. The people next to us thought it was a puppet till they saw "her" waving!:rotfl:

Tinkerbell is definitely a girl, I can't imagine a guy being lite enough for the role. Sometimes she won't fly due to weather, and sometimes she won't due to a large lunch :) she has to weigh in right before and if she's too heavy (or even too lite) it's a safety risk and she won't fly.

Now, the best time I saw her was actually the first. I was with dh and friends and we were going to ride Buzz during Wishes. We were on our way to Tomorrowland from the noodle station and I looked back to see if our friends were still with us and there she was right above me :cool1: it was an amazing view and I can remember it as if it were yesterday.

She can be pretty hard to see sometimes and especially with Florida weather it's always up in the air as to whether she'll fly or not. While it's great to see her, I wouldn't let it affect your enjoyment of Wishes if you don't see her.
