We would like to rent a surrey bike one day during our mid-day break. Which resort has the best riding paths? We would prefer somewhere that has a path that isn't too strenuous or difficult to navigate. (Yes, we're lazy.:D ) Any suggestions?
Thanks.:)

When we were there in October and at POR you could rent the bikes and take a path through the resort to POFQ. It did not look to strenuous but we did not do it. I don't know if this path would still be open now that POFQ is closed. Maybe somebody who has gone more recently could help.

We were at POR President's week and as long as the POFQ is closed you won't be able to ride over there. The bike path goes all the way around the Sassagoula River (.7 Mile). I kinda wish you could go all the way around the perimeter of the resort. ~:)~

My family rented the bike at the Boardwalk area and we had so much fun. We laughed so hard. I definitely recommend it. But it does take a lot of effort to make it up those hills! But it's so fun coming down the other side!:D

We rented surrey bikes at POR this past week. We had a ball. The path is a very easy path - no hills - just easy going. I kept my feet up a lot and let the boys do the work :) We tried renting a surrey bike at the Boardwalk, but they wouldn't let us as all 3 boys were not tall enough (54" or 56" - can't remember). Even though they could reach the pedals easily, they wouldn't allow it. There was no problem at POR - their policy is if the kids can reach the pedals, then they can do it :)

So depending on your children's heights, this may be a problem.

We've always rented them at CBR, they're sooo much fun. It's so nice riding around the promenade, but they do take some effort, more than they appear to. Have fun!!:)

Hello-
I had bike questions too so I wanted to know if the surrey bikes are the kind where two people sit side by side with the little canopy over them?

What times of day would tend to be least crowded? Are they easy to stop or redirect if there are pedestrians?

How late does the Boardwalk rent them?

Thanks,
Brenda

It's so much fun renting surrey bikes at the Boardwalk. The path that you ride on takes you passed all the EPCOT/MGM hotels including the Swan, Dolphin, BC & YC. The views are beautiful -especially at night.

The Boardwalk is definitely THE PLACE.

Yes, those are the bikes we're talking about. They have bikes that seat up to six people? I'm not certain actually as we only need the two seater. I know they have a four seater too. And babies and small children can sit in the basket on the front of the bike and ring the bell. :)

The idea behind the bell is to warn the pedestrians to get out of the way! Sort of a bike "horn." I have never seen people having a problem getting through the crowds. In fact, it's more fun when it's more crowded because everyone gets a kick out of seeing the bikes.

They rent them pretty late-- I don't know the exact time they stop, but it's well after Epcot closes. A lot of folks make their way over to the Boardwalk after Illuminations.

Does anyone know which area rent those bikes that seat six and are they more $.

Thanks
