I am planing to ask my girlfriend to marry me on ou trip in Dec. (6th-11th). I have been going there every other yesr since I was 6(now 29). DW like many holds a very special place in my heart. My girlfriend has been there but its been over 15 years for her and want this to be very special. I have one stipulation though I don't want to propse in a realy crowded area I don't think that is fair to whom you are proposing to with the presure to say yeas and all. So if anybody has any good ideas please give me your input it would be greatly appreciated. :mickeyjum :donald: :goofy: :stitch: :simba: :dumbo: :tinker:

I would say in front of the castle but that would be really crowded. You could wait for the monorail and ask to sit in the front and right before u get in front of MK ask her to marry u..Or wait towards the end of the trip after ur girlfriend has seen the parks and then ask her what her favorite thing was so far then maybe do that ride whatever over again then ask her.that way she will remember where u asked her.

When we were at MK last year we had dinner at the castle and a man asked his girlfriend to marry him there. It was so sweet. He must have let them know ahead of time because they gave them the middle seat in front of the windows. He arranged it for right before Wishes and then right before they started he got down on one knee and asked her and then they watched Wishes. They had the privacy of being at their own table and not everyone realized what was going on. Nobody but the closest tables could hear her answer. I got all teary eyed and had to tease my husband that he asked me while I was driving my car which is not romantic in the slightest. lol If you can afford it another way would be to pay I think $250 for a wishes cruise or illuminations and ask her then since you would have the whole boat to yourselves if the castle is not private enough. Have fun. There should be more romatic men like you in the world.

I would say in the lobby at The Grand Floridian or at Victoria and Alberts if money is no problem. FOR ME, if someone was to propose to me this is where I would want it to happen: right at sunset I would like it to be on the beautiful beach between the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. Not at one of the resorts because it may be crowded, but between them. You will also be right by the wedding chapel!

There is also acompany called Dreams of a Lifetime (google them or look on allears.net) that sets up incredible occasions.

Another idea I have is a scavenger hunt. You can set that up with Cast Members throughout MK where you have a treasure map and clues that lead to different places. You could wither have the final place the train station with a key to a locker where the ring or just a note is inside.

Another thing that would be neat is to propose on the train at the MK have the engineer ask over the microphone. For example sit close to the back and have him make an announcement that Jim would like to know if Susan will marry him. :bride: :bride: :bride: :bride:

The gardens in England are so pretty and ususally empty.
I had always dreamed of DH proposing in front of the Castle but he didnt.

It's not overly crowded IMHO... & If you're good with acting I'd say start off at Chef Mickeys... and here's one of many scenerios that would work...

You discretely talk with the seating person and arrange for the corner booth on the right entry way to the room (this seems to be the most out of the way) and make sure to mention you need to talk with the handler for Mickey (when up getting food)for help with a part...

Set the stage for "play"

Ask Mickey if he made the breakfast (of course say yes and take the credit)
When Minnie comes by ask her if she made breakfast, and she'll say yes. Then tell her Mickey said he made it. She'll get mad - too cute. Play some more and ask her if Mickey's given her a ring yet...

Mickey shows up sometime later with a GIANT ring (inexpensive bracelet painted gold and a crystal glued to it) in hand anxiously looking for Minnie.

Mickey asks if you can hold his ring for him as he needs to do the rounds and doesn't want to loose it...

from there you could propose with the characters around the table and slip the giant ring on her wrist. If she laughs and says it's not real you produce the real ring.

or - pull out your own ring and show Mickey how to propose properly

or - ??? there are too many FUN ways to propose. And even more romantic ways :)

Good luck and let us know what you decide on and how it turns out!!!

Of course by the gardens in front of the castle would be more romantic :thumbsup2

How about while watching Wishes from a hammok on the Poly Beach? Fist check that there's a good view from them.

Does she have a favorite WDW attraction or restaurant? If so, I'd try to build the proposal in or near her favorite location. Have a fun time making your special plans! :goodvibes

there is a spot at the polynesian resort that has an unbelievable view of the castle, the grand floridian, and the contemporary. take her there right before wishes begins and propse. i am 99% sure it is either partial beach or there is a walkway u can do it. i've watched the fireworks from there and the view is spectacular, plus not alot of people knwo about this area so it wont be too packed. :cool1:

I have to suggest the Wishing Well behind the castle. Because every girl wants to be a princess!

During/after wishes is always good too. find a spot in fantasyland (less crowded).

Many places in world showcase. France,England,Mexico.

If you go to the christmas party it might be fun to do it during it! While enjoying the cocoa and cookies!

BF and I are going at the same time you are ...it's a great time to go!

The gardens in the back of England is probably the most romantic spot for DH & I -- when the band isn't playing, that is, lol.

I suppose this is purely a personal preference thing, but one reason why I find our "Epcot day" so romantic is we don't have to plan, we can take our time, hold hands, get a little tipsy drinking around the world, and we can just be spontaneous, which is getting harder and harder to do nowadays at other WDW parks.

Snuggling with my DH on a quiet bench in the gardens of England with a black & tan in hand, our tummies full from sampling all kinds of good foods, seeing Pooh come and go out of the back of the little shop there, wondering where the rest of our day will take us (or evening...wink, wink) is the stuff heaven is made of <sigh>.

Disney is full of romance IMO, too. My first date with my now hubby was at MK. Our first kiss was on the Haunted Mansion. We held hands for the first time on crowded Main Street, but we didn't let go once we got over to Adventureland. Even with all of this, that spot in England at Epcot is our magic spot

Wishing you both years of finding magic spots that you will treasure :goodvibes

Where every you decide give disney a call, they love that stuff...and will help you how ever you need...The wedding forum has a few good suggestions as well....Best of Luck

Thnx guys fro the input! I am so looking forward to my trip and will have a few months to mull it over. I am sure what ever I decide it will be special. It seems like there are almost limitless places to propose. Once again I truly appreciate all of your feedback. :yay:

One last thought...If you really want to propose in front of castle wait for the "goodnight kiss". Hardly anyone is in the park,it is quiet and the castle looks even more beautiful!!!

I did it when Mickey & Minnie were at 1900 Park Fare.I told them ahead of time,it was listed with my reservation and evryone knew and was watching.Mickey came over and did his to Minnie on one knee, then pointed at me.It was my turn. Although,I was told they might be a little apprehensive just in case she says no.
