Best place to get Autograph books? Online or at WDW?

I sort of want to get them before we head down on the 24th. Disney Store is out of the Princess one and only has the Tink one and regular ones.

Is there any other website that I can buy for a decent price? Will the price at WDW be the same as on Disney Store?

The books sold by WDW are actually pretty developed in that they are designed with the character in mind. The pen that is sold is exactly the right width and length for characters to easily grasp and they all have some way for the character to be able to tell if the book is upside down (so you don't get a ton of upside down autographs). The blue book they sell is about $7 and includes plain blank pages. You can choose to have the characters sign the right side only or both sides for extra space if you are going on serious character hunts ;)

There are also books that Disney sells that include a slot to include a picture on the left side of the page and a spot for an autograph on the right side. These books tend to be "prettier" but they don't include nearly as many pages. They run a bit more (approx $8). Some of these "picture" books are a lot larger with the opportunity to include more than one autograph on a given page. Beware of the gel pens that are included with some of these books! While it may be cheaper to get the big "2012" book with the gel pen, keep in mind that these gel pens crap out super easily, resulting in poor quality autographs.

Personally, I think the best books people bring are the ones you can find through vendors online like Etsy.com. People get so creative with these autographs and the characters LOVE seeing a picture themselves next to where they will sign. I've seen some BEAUTIFUL books worthy of putting on a coffee table if you are so inclined ;)

Also, Sharpies are the best things in the world when it comes to autographs! They tend to be thick enough for most characters to grasp and they really do more justice to the character's handwriting. Bring plenty though so that characters aren't running out of ink while signing!

Hope this helps!

I have used the books bought at Disney before, but I like to make my own books. There are so many styles to choose from. Find the cards you like, print them & you can bind them at Staples with a spiral binder fairly inexpensive. You can also get one of the small 4x6 photo albums to put them in. Then you can add pics of your child getting the autograph next to the actual autograph. I think these options look better than plain white paper, IMO. I think they will last longer as well.

And I totally agree with using Sharpies. I suggest using the thick clickable Sharpies. That way the characters don't have to mess with a cap and you won't lose it. The thickness of the Sharpie is easier for them to hold and it writes nicely on photo prints. Just make sure to pack a couple of them, in case you lose one.

Just purchased 2 for my daughters off eBay. From a theme park warehouse company in Kissimmee.

Should do the job just fine.

We made them our last trip. The kids had fun with it before and while we were there. The charters had fun with it too.

Though this won't help the OP since I believe they have already left, but maybe others will be interested. When we went in 2010, my sister created one and got it printed from one of those websites (Shutterfly, Artscow, etc) using the autograph cards that the wonderful artists create on the DISign board here on the Dis. It was truly spectacular and the characters loved signing in their own spot. If you have time, I would definitely recommend doing this. My niece who was 5 at the time thought it was the coolest thing and loved searching through the book for a certain character's spot when she met them.
