Hi- I was wondering where people pick up autograph books for their kids. We are staying at POR, i'm assuming that they sell them there? Or is it better to get them in the park? Also, do characters sign the books at the character meals? Thank you!

Yes the characters sign them at the meals.
On where to get them you can get them all over the parks but i think the resort gift shops would have them as well.

Yes,characters sign them on the Character Meals.
And you can get the autograph books at both the resorts and parks - I got mine at the resort and IMO was better because it doesn't take time away from you at the parks to go searching and standing in line for them.

Have fun!:wizard:

Once ME drops us at our resort our first stop is DTD! We go to big World of Disney store and our daughter gets a pen and her autograph book there. Then we go to the Pin Trader to get this years lanyard and a few starter pins!

Even though you could get a blank book from home, we picked up an autograph book right in the park because of the Pirate cover. Since we only used about 1/4 of the book, we're going to reuse the rest of the book on our next trip. To save money, I would bring a chunky style pen from home (thickness is better for the Character's hands to hold). Make sure that you give them a fresh page without another signature on the back so that it's easy to pull out and scrapbook or put into an album. Also, have your page and pen ready while you're waiting so others don't have to wait for you to pull it out! Our family likes to hunt for the less obvious signatures....that's why we're going to do a Character Breakfast with Chip 'n Dale and Friends instead of Goofy's Kitchen when we go to Disneyland this week. Have fun!

I am actually a scrapbooker so I altered a composition Notebook and made it a Autograph book for the Characters to sign. It is much larger and has many more pages than the store bought ones. I customized it to have DD's favorite princess, Cinderella on the front, back and inside covers..

Just an idea.:)

We used a huge bulky pen. It makes it easier for the characters that have larger hands per say to use.

They were really happy when I handed them our pen!
I actually took 2 just in case one got lost or ran out of ink.

:thumbsup2

DS's had really small sharpies and the Genie had a lot of trouble with them....:rolleyes1

We were at POR in Sept. While DH checked in, the kids and I went to the gift shop to purchase them. We also got a pressed penny book while we were there...highly recommmend that!!
I brought from home the sharpie retractable markers. They worked great and we never had to worry about losing pen caps!:thumbsup2

We are actaully going to get character autographs during our trip in Dec as we want to start scrapbooking our WDW vacations.

We didn't want to spend a ton on books etc so we purchased a couple of 4x6 index card spiral books, a couple of fat bic pens, & some retractable sharpies.

The index cards remove easily from the book, are great for scrapbooking, and the sharpies do not bleed through them.

Just a thought.

We buy an autograph book as soon as we get on property. I usually get it at a park, but I've bought them from the hotel's gift shop too. Our first trip I bought it on the Chef Mickey's concourse minutes before our very first ever charecter meal!

I do not have them use Sharpies. I'm afraid it'll bleed. We always buy a big pen for about $5. Yep, it'd be cheaper to bring one from home, but this is a souvenier for us too!

Have a magical trip!
