When we go in Feb. it will be my wife, brother and mother's birthdays. What is the best place to go that will make the biggest deal out of it being their birthdays. We can make it all in 1 day because wife and brother is one the same day and my moms is the day after.
Thanks

At the GF - 1900 Park Fair - great buffet at breakfast and dinner - characters - PLUS birthday fun !

Breakfast has Marry Popins, the Mad Hatter and 2 other characters.
Dinner has Cindy, the Prince, the wicked Step Mother and the 2 Step Sisters.

Check out the menu board to see what you like.

Breakfast has a wonderful omelette station which you can request your omelette any way you like, freshly cooked.

Dinner has a great meat (type depends on the night) carving station.

The buffets are watched careful by GF Chef's eyes for little fingers touching the food. :goodvibes

What adults can get - Mickey confetti on the table, free cupcakes with a candle, children get a placemat (maybe adults too - they gave one to my 16 year old for his birthday) - now the best part... gentleman get crowns to wear and ladies get tiaira's.

For an extra charge - you can also order a delicious cake or specialty dessert (give atleast 1 week notice) from the GF bakery to be brought to your table. The GF pastry chefs are wonderful.

Personally I think it all depends on your server.
We have had hit and misses with servers acknowledging any sort of celebration.
The only consistant restaurant that has done so is Whispering Canyon at WL.

Whispering Canyon and 50's Prime Time Cafe will ham it up - especially if you get a server that is really in character.

For my birthday, we went to the California Grill and they had the Mickey confetti on the table prior to being seated. Also, the mgr. comped quite a few things from my bill AND they gave me chocolate cake! To say I was impressed was an understatement.

I was at California Grill for my birthday in September by myself. I got a tabletop of Mickey confetti, a visit from the manager, a card and special dessert with a candle. I also received congratulations from people at tables around me. Was truly the most special restaurant experience I've ever had at Disney!

The whole restaurant sang happy birthday to me at The Plaza, and I got the cupcake too. The mayor just happened to come in right after that and he wished me a happy birthday as well. It was his birthday that day too, which was fun!

We went to 1900 Park Fare's breakfast for my birthday and they did give my a placemat and a plastic crown. The kids still have the crown around here somewhere and play with it. They woman announcing birthdays had a powerful voice and could be heard through at least half of the restaurant so everyone knows. The cupcake was huge.

I had dinner at 1900 Park Fare on my birthday last year and I didn't get a tiara. They brought me a cupcake, I think. I think that's pretty much the norm at most Disney restaurants. I appreciate the freebie, but I must say that every birthday freebie I've ever tasted at WDW has been pretty lackluster to say the least. I think they pull the cupcakes out of the freezer. Sorry to be Debbie Downer.

Some really fun things happen for birthdays at a lot of the restaurants - however they don't ALWAYS happen. Some people don't get recognized with the "free celebrations". Have you considered purchasing a cake and having it delivered at one of your meals? That is a way to assure there will be a celebrations (even if its just a cake arriving)

It's really hit or miss, and they're not obligated to do anything for a celebration. The only way to guarantee anything extra is to buy a cake (either order ahead or get the "podium" cake). We celebrated a 60th birthday 3 weeks ago at Le Cellier, it was noted on the ressie & the ADR, she was wearing her It's My Birthday pin, and we didn't even get a "Happy Birthday" from the server. It was no big deal, we weren't expecting anything, so we weren't disappointed. I guess it depends on the server & how busy they are at the time!

I celebrated mine at Cali.grill :thumbsup2 it was lovely, we had a nice view of the castle and wishes xx

I think that you should just pick a restaurant that everyone will enjoy and if you want some extra birthday surprises and fun, arrange for them ahead of time. This will likely cost money but it's the only way to guarentee that anything special will happen. Now, with the Celebrate theme, there are a few options to choose from.

For my daughters 16th b-day last year we reserved an area in the California Grill. It was nice because the girls could go out on the observation deck and look around. Of course it was nice when the fireworks went off. My wife dealt with one person the whole time while planning for this and made sure the person was there that night to make sure things ran smoothly and we had 20 or so people in our party. The staff was wonderful. After we had a limo take us all over to Cirque de Solil. All went well.

I would highly recommend the California Grill.
