okay: so here's my dilemma. last time we went to epcot, we thaught...well, we're just go for the afternoon, then stay over so we can see the eluminations parade. we rode test track, space ship earth, mition space but after riding sorin, we decided on food. we didon't know the best place to eat for families...and by this time, it was like half an hour away from eluminations. we ended up eating at this strange place near the living with the land boat ride, with a server...sounded like her mouth was taped....it was horrible. the food just sucked.... when we go this year, i want to find somewhere good for families, with good service...preffably waiter service, near the eluminations point, so we don't have to rush around the park like some kind of cookie monster while looking for something to eat. lol

We ate at Bistro de Paris for dinner last August - okay, VERY pricey (about $400 for the 4 of us) but awsome! Downstairs is the other French restaurant that is reasonable (for Disney) and I bet it's great.

Morocco had good food also, and it was fun to watch the belly dancer (she got kids to come and dance with her).

Didn't like Mexico much, but maybe it's what I ordered.

Rose & Crown looks good - never ate there.

I liked Germany for the buffet it was awesome. Moraco I didn't care for, didn't like the food. I have heard the best is Canada, I have tried to book a reservation many times but it is always full.

I've ate at Mexico, Italy, Japan, France, and Canada. Food wise, my favorite is a tie b/t Canada and Japan. You'll find most people will say Canada. Each place has it's own unique thing that makes it great, so you can decide for yourself:

Mexico-by far the best atmosphere. Just beautiful.

Italy-good food if you like Italian.

Japan-great food and really fun since it's a Hibachi grill.

France-it was OK. Wasn't a huge fan. REALLY disappointed in their steak. You'd figure they'd have a great filet mignon and it was just like a piece of roast beef. uck!

Canada-out of those five the best food. Great cheddar soup and even better steak.

We love Morocco. I am a belly dancer and have gotten up with the dancer there, so it's I think it's fun. And the food is great.

We also love Restaurant Akhershus at Norway, but a lot of people don't like the food there.

Mexico is just eh IMO. Not much different than the Mexican restaurant in the mall.

I agree with most of what's been said. I would say that Epcot is definitely the "food park", since almost all of the restaurants are decent.

Garden Grill, where you ate near the Land, is seriously one of the worst restaurants on property. :( It's no coincidince you were able to get in lol.

I think that Le Cellier (Canada) is the best food in Epcot, but it's one of the least interesting environments. San Angel Inn (Mexico) is truly stunning, and I used to live El Rio del Tiempo, for all its tacky glory. I really like the ambiance of Les Chefs de France as well.

The Teppenyaki room in Japan is pretty solid; I hear the Chinese isn't nearly as good.

Mexico and China are my favorites. I love the nachos from Mexico anfd the Orange chicken from China.

For a family meal, I'd go with either Teppenyaki in Japan or the buffet in Germany . Both are entertaining, the food is decent, and the prices are reasonable. Bistro de Paris is my personal favorite, but I like classic French cuisine and I don't have a family to feed - it's pricey and in my opinion not ideal for families if you're on a budget.

Mexico has the best restaurant. The food is delicious, the atmosphare is amazing and you get free nachos :):)

If you want a good view of Illuminations Reflections of Earth, the best place to be is at the Rose & Crown, 1 to 2 hours before the show starts, which is normally 9:00, but might be later during the holidays.
There is no parade currently at Epcot.
If you can get a patio table, great, but if not, you can still leave your table and watch the fireworks from the lower patio area.
The food is great there, although not fancy.

I loved both Teppan Ido and the Coral Reef. I really loved Coral Reef though!

If you want to eat at any of the Epcot TS restaurants, reservations are a must. You can call 407-WDW-DINE up to 180 days prior to your trip to make them. Rose & Crown is popular, especially at dinnertime, because of the great Illuminations views.

A reservation is an absolute must, service is great, the British servers are very personable, but you don't really want fast service if you are trying to stay there for Illuminations! The prices are moderate and you can see the prices for yourself if you click on the link I provided before.

well thanks, really think i'm going to go with your suggestion. sounds like a relaxing place

At Epcot, we like Le Cellier (Canada) and San Angel (Mexico). It's fun to go to dinner about 6:30, take your time and leave the restaurant about 8:00. Then, grab a spot for Illluminations. If you grab a spot 1 hour in advance, you usually get a good one.

Haven't been in awhile so maybe it's changed, but we liked Garden Grill actually. However, I've heard it's changed a bit.

Don't forget that you can leave the international gateway and have dinner in the Epcot Resort Area. There are great choices - Flying Fish, Beaches & Cream (burgers and hot dogs but tons of fun), Il Mulino (Swan), Blue Zoo (Dolphin), Yachtsman Steakhouse, Kimonos (sushi at the Swan). You could also take the Friendship versus walking. Then, just head back in through the international gateway for Illuminations after dinner.

Enjoy!

are those places in walking distance? or could i maybe take the monorail or the car. have you got a list of prices for those places

I'm very picky when it comes to food. I dont like too much that's mexican, german, french, etc. I'm basically your American or Italian food fan. It'd be ok with me to eat either steak, seafood or pasta every day of my life. With that being said, my favorite goes to Coral Reef and Le Cellier. Actually with all the restaurants we tried on the DDP in April, Coral Reef was one of our favorites and my wife doesn't even like seafood and she liked it!
