Best place to eat at Animal Kingdom?

I LOVE to start my day off with a breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus! :) It's a fun way to break the ice (since it's a 1st morning in WDW tradition for us) and be a kid again. The food is good and it's all you can eat! We chow down and don't eat again until dinner! :)

The BBQ place--can't remember the name--just always eat there!! Love the pulled pork sandwich. The french fries are seasoned, too......yum. Plus my husband loves that he can get a beer, here!

Sounds like the Flame Tree Barbecue. Sounds great! It's almost lunch time here. You're making me hungry!

That's IT!!!!!! The Flame Tree BBQ---great view if you go all the way down the trail to the left as opposed to taking a left right away. YUMMY!

Flame Tree BBQ is delicious -- the dry rub style is different, tasty and at least for me, less messy than the wet style. I am often torn between having lunch at Flame Tree or Tusker House -- I like both almost equally.

Flame tree is really good! We also like Rainforest Cafe though it gets some bad reviews. The surroundigs are fabulous and the portions are huge. The volcano dessert is awesome!:goodvibes

Our favorite AK restaurant is Flame Tree BBQ. The food is excellent and the portions are huge. Two adults can easily eat one order. We usually sit by the river and eat. It is nice and cool even in July. Last year while we ate, a boat came by with a tropical band, Mickey and Minnie.

We are from NC where BBQ is famous and many different styles so eating at Flame Tree BBQ was surprisingly good to us. I kid you not, I broke out in a sweat just thinking about their hot BBQ sauce :rotfl2:

So it FTBBQ for us

BTW, we really like the sweet and tangy sauce the best

Looks like a must - doable w/ two toddlers? food/seating wise?

I love Flame Tree too. It is actually the only place I've ever eaten at AK. I tried it on my first visit many years ago and haven't been able to tear myself away. I like the food and the large seating area - never had a problem finding a seat.

Some day I'm going to try Tusker House as it gets a lot of great reviews too.

I vote for Tusker House. We have enjoyed Flame Tree BBQ; it depends on what you want. We lunched at Tusker House in Feb. I had the salmon (better and larger than what I had for dinner at Le Cellier) with green beans (yum!) and yellow rice. $7.99 before tax and any discounts. DELICIOUS! My DS14 had rotisserie chicken with beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. He polished his plate. Again, $7.99 for large portion. DD11 had child's chicken and enjoyed it. We had the DDE card and it could have been used here, but with quick math (don't know how correct), we opted for the Meal Voucher so we could have snacks and drinks later.

Also, the walk-up chicken place in Asia (near Kali River) is wonderful! Loved the pot stickers! There is a place adjacent that served hot dogs (I think) and McDonald's fries. There is outdoor seating (some covered) next to both.

We discovered Flame Tree BBQ last time. We always said it smelled awesome and we should try it. We loved it so much -- my 8 year old included -- that we ended up making a special trip back to AK to eat there again! YUM!

Definitely Tusker House. My favorite counter-service place in the World. Great selection of food, especially in regards to alternatives from basic burgers and fries. I did the turkey wrap w/ corn chowder and DH got the salmon with rice and green beans. Both were great. The food is fresh, and I always feel like I'm getting more for my $$$ here.

We tried FT because of all the great reviews but were sadly disappointed. DH had the ribs and they were really greasy, while I had the sald which was the same as many of the other salads i have had at the world. I hope the breakfastosaurus which we will eat at on our 1st anniversary this year will be good.

POOHLUVRUS,
Yes, I think Flame Tree BBQ is a great place with toddlers. Sit by the water and they will have alot to look at while they eat. the portions are so huge, they could easily eat off of your plate.
