Best place to buy tickets

Wondering what the best place to buy tickets are. I know sometimes they have discounts if you order in advance, etc. We've always bought from undercovertourist.com when we have went to WDW. Just want the best deal. We arent going til July.........do you think there will be some sort of special and maybe we should wait?

I totally agree with skiingfast, i wouldnt be a bit surprised if we see a ticket price increase in the next couple months.

When we went for Spring Break, we picked up tickets for my mom and nephew at our local credit union. The online price for a 3 day hopper was $214 and at the credit union they were $194.50. The 4 day ticket was $234 online, and the credit union price was $210. Nice part was when we upgraded to PAPs, we were credited with $234.

We have also bought the southern california citypass when we were going to more than just Disneyland and it saves money by combining the ticket prices. Here is the link for info on it:

Does anyone know if the ticket prices go back down in the fall? We aren't going until the fall and I'm trying to decide if I should buy the tickets now or wait until after the summer busy season.

This gave me a chuckle. It's not like throwing rocks in the air where what goes up must come down.

In the Fall there are usually ticket deals, just like there is this Spring. Still it's a gamble if they could be cheaper than the tickets available now good through Dec 31st.

Aren't the deals usually (at best) equivalent to the prices before the last price increase?

Sometimes. The deals vary so it's hard to tell until it comes out. That's why it's a gamble.

We are heading to DL from June 10-17 and haven't purchased tickets yet. We will stay at the DLH with my dad's senior discount so didn't do a package deal. I had planned to buy tickets once we arrived because we want to try to upgrade to 8 day hoppers at the gates (and have heard we will lose any discount). Would we be best to buy tix in advance in case of price increases? Will we lose the pre-increase price when we go to 8 day hoppers (assuming prices do go up)? When ticket prices go up, how much do they generally increase (historically)? Is there usually some warning that prices will go up?

I would buy them now.

Expect to loose the discount when upgrading to 8 days, but hope you don't loose the discount which is sometimes the case.

They will probably go up 5% to 7%.

Word will get out a few days before they go up.

I shopped for tickets for months. The best place I found for tickets is Getawaytoday.com. You can even add a hotel and tickets to other local attractions if you want. I did not get mine through there only because I got them cheaper from a friend who gets discounts from her work. If you know someone who can has access to Ticketsatwork.com, then you might be able to get them cheaper.
As far as price going up or down... well I dont think when you buy them makes much of a difference (not 100%) as much as when you go. I got tickets cheaper only because we are going next month, they have to be used by may 28th. If we were going any later, they would have cost more, even if I bought them at the same time.

Odd question, but where do you live? The reason I ask is here in Australia we can buy a 14 day hopper pass for AUD$241.00 from Expedia. You need to be an Australian resident to be able to take up the offer. Not sure if that is much help.

I'm sure the price of the new promotional tickets will be higher due to opening of Cars Land, but do you think there's any possibility that they might include one MM for DCA, even as an add-on (in addition to the standard DL MM)?

Maybe. It's really not known how MM will work. Park operations are changing significantly this Summer. We need a couple weeks to see the June Calendar come out.

Go to the booths and ask for "additional days" usually they will find a way to give you upgrades at a comparable daily rate. The answer depends on the type of tickets you have now. All tickets are not created equal and are upgradable differently. No-one can answer you specifically without actually seeing the ticket.

Thanks, that's good to know! I was going to buy us a 6 day hopper and bring along some old old WDW park hoppers that 3 of us have and buy a one day ticket for my son (he was only 2 when we got the other 3 WDW passes) in order to get us 7 days of park time. But now I will inquire about upgrading to eight days like I was hoping to get so we can do some partial days in the parks/partial days sightseeing.

I work at IBM, and we have access to Ticketsatwork.com. However, we also have access to another much better website. The "2012 Corporate Ticket Program Pricing" website. Sometimes called "Corporate Consignment".

One example: say you want 5 day park hoppers (2 adults, 2 kids) for 2012 (non-Spring special).

Disneyland box office -- $1024
Disneyland.com -- $944
aRes Travel.com -- $932 (1.3% off of disneyland.com)
getawattoday.com -- $924 (2.1% off)
Ticketsatwork.com -- $856 + $56.64 taxes/fees = $912.64 (3.3% off)
Corporate Consignment -- $849.60 (10.0% off)

The 10% off applies to all tickets, including on top of Spring Discount prices for those.

So ask an IBMer or someone else in a large American company if they participate in the 2012 Corporate Ticket Program.

Just wanted to add that thanks to this thread, I remembered that my gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness offered some non-fitness perks.. I logged in to my 24 Hour Fitness account and ended up at a 24 Hour landing page on ticketsatwork.com and was able to add two 3-day park hopper tickets for $181.00 each to my cart!
