I hope we won't need it, but it looks as though we might! :sad2: We leave tomorrow! Where is the best place to buy rain ponchos, here before we go, or once we get there? How much are they too?
Thanks!

If you have a Dollar Tree they are 2 for a dollar.

Otherwise i would suggest Wal-Mart.

If you wait till you get to WDW, you'll pay in the upwards of $15.00

We usually buy a 10 bucks worth from the dollar tree and hand some out to those less fortunate.

Good Luck! :umbrella:

either buy at WalMart before you go - or you can get those Disney ones Anywhere in the world once it starts raining.

I prefer the nice Disney ponchos to the cheap Walmart and dollar store ones.

I think they are now $5 for child and either $7 or $10 for adults...I can't remember off the top of my head.

They are clear now, not yellow. They're a great souvenir and I usually pack old ones and bring them along. I have 100 year of magic and I also have Disneyland Paris ones because of course, I think I don't need to bring it on day 3 and leave them in the room, only to need them and buy new ones!

Some swear by the cheap ones and throw them away after each use but I prefer the Disney ones.

Almost every gift shop has them even if you do not see them, just ask.

We always bought them before we left and put them in our backpack. We put them in Ziplock baggies so we could grab them quickly and after it stopped raining we out them back in so nothing else got wet and we did not have to throw them away. Just remember to take them out when you get back to the hotel to let them dry so they are ready for the next afternoon's rain shower!!!

Target has Coleman emergency ponchos for $1.00 each. These work great and you can stock up on them for that price. Look in the camping section.

Thanks everyone! Keep your fingers crossed that I won't need them! :umbrella:

Walmart in the sporting goods section - 88 cents. Really pack small and you can just toss them after you use them,

Just got back from Target with my 6 for our trip in June. I love the 'official' ponchos. In fact, we have 5 of them at home. But, they tend to be a pain to stash when it stops raining. The cheapo ones either scrunch up nicely in a fannypack or just toss them.

We also prefer the disposable ones. They are so much smaller and when wet it is a pain to try and pack up back in my bag...even in a ziploc bag.

Last year in Aug. I packed 4 adult and 4 child for me and my DD(7) and we only used 1 of them :cool1:

Hope we get lucky again this year!!!

Our Walmart also had some more substantial ones, thicker plastic for $2.89 or something like that. They are more re-usable. I got those for our trip. Good tip on the ziplock bags. I have to add some bigger ziplocs to my shopping list!

I spend the $7 on the Disney ones. They are more expensive, but they are much more heavy duty. If they rip, you can take them back to any location and they will be replaced. I've only ripped mine once and that was because it was so windy that the wind pushed the poncho against my lanyard and Darth Maul's lightsaber ripped right through. You can roll the Disney ones up and fit 2 into the smallest Disney bag that you can ask for in any store.

Thanks!!! I never thought about rolling them and sticking them in a Disney bag!!! I could thread the bag right over my fanny pack strap then!! Great idea.

Target has Youth and Adult ponchos in the camping aisle for about $5 & $7. We bought a few packs at Dollar Tree but we haven't ever opened them. I imagine they are pretty flimsy!

The ones at the parks look pretty nice. We wore rain jackets and bought umbrellas. Umbrellas are $10 each at WDW - black with Mickey on them.
