Best place/price Oct 11?

Need a super cheap room. I haven't stayed off site in years and have no idea where to start. Disney's prices for this time are crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

We like Quality Inn Maingate West in Kissimmee. It is only about 2-3 miles to the entrance of Disney. They have a pretty good continental breakfast included. It is nothing fancy but we have always found the rooms to be clean and safe. You can go to qualityinnorlando.com and book directly through them (38.95 per night) which is cheaper than the choice hotels website. Hope this helps.

We'll actually be spending 1 night there (Nov 28th) before we check in to POP on the 29th

I would start at Priceline. See what their direct rates are for 2 or 2.5 star hotels then go for less with a name your own price strategy. We haven't bid on the 12th yet but we got a 3 star hotel Oct. 13-16 for $45/night (Holiday Inn Maingate) and a different 3 star Oct. 16-19 for $42/night (Radisson Celebration). You can get it for a lot less if you try a 2 or 2.5 star.

From what I've been hearing, October is a busy convention month in Orlando, that is what's driving up the prices offsite.

ITA with Purseval about trying a Priceline or Hotwire bid, if you are looking for "super cheap." Or even if you want a "bargain" in the deluxe category. Just learn the zones, ratings and check the bidding boards (biddingfortravel, betterbidding) for win history. FWIW.

I just booked the Marriott Courtyard LBV for that weekend. $89 a night for a two room suite with a kitchen.

Sorry Disney....but "pretty" isn't worth the price difference LOL!

I've booked the Galleria Palms Orlando for $50 a night directly from the resort. Travelocity, Hotels.com, etc., are asking $60 a night for the same resort. From what I'm hearing -- the rooms look exactly like those on the website. I'm almost sorry we're only staying one night.

We're staying at the Howard Johnson Kissimmee Maingate for a few nights in Oct. & our rate is $30/night. You really want to check out tripadvisor.com to get more info on the cleanliness of hotels you're interested in. I was going to book with 2 other places first, and I found terrible reviews on both (roaches, mold, holes in the walls/mattress), so we switched to HOJO (which had great reviews). The Quality Inn in the pp also had good reviews. HTH! GL!
