Best place on site for birthday meal?

Hi all.
Whilst in orlando this october my daughter will turn 17 so ive been thinking of places to have a special birthday meal.
There is going to be 15 of us and id like it to be really special and fun.
My daughter loves the kona cafe but im not convinced its a birthday type of place.I wanted the hoop de doo but have looked online and its booked.
Any suggestions welcome.

What about some where like Planet Hollywood or Hardrock...they cater well for groups? Or do you want somewhere like a signature restaurant?

How about Via Napoli at EPCOT! Great food for all ages.

We have eaten at most Disney restaurants. Our Son is 18 on our next trip so we gave him the choice of eating anywhere he wanted onsite or offsite for his Birthday meal. He chose Grand Floridian Cafe.

His 14th Birthday meal was at Hoop De Doo, Cast member friends paid for us to go for his Birthday, been back numerous times since, great place but I prefer somewhere a little quieter for a Birthday meal.

Probably better on site as most of the family will be on ddp.

Just shows no-one can advise OP, it has to be their own choice, CG is last place we would go back to, DS would never want a Birthday meal there, one visit was enough for us.

I think the suggestion of Cali Grill when the fireworks are going off is a good one too..we have had good food there and would go back.

But seriously, wherever you think you are going to have the most enjoyment, not just from the food but the atmosphere as well. Also check with the restaurant, see if they can lay on any 'surprises' for the birthday girl.....

Everyone you ask will have a different opinion, everyone has their own tastes!

I'm about to blaspheme, may the White Glove of the Mouse forgive me... we have NEVER stayed onsite and therefore not had much experience of dinner on the resort other than in Hollywood and Vine and the MacDonalds in DTD!!

Breakfast on the other hand, we've been just about everywhere on and off site and it's Chef Mickey's all the way... although there is something to be said about a Denny's all american grand slam breakfast when you've landed in orlando at 6pm and have a need for some grub!

Totally agree with Paul, your DD is old enough to choose, if she wants Kona Cafe then go with that. DS chose GF cafe but we wouldn't hesitate booking Kona Cafe if that had been his choice.

We are taking my sister in law to coral reef for her birthday while out there as she loves eating fish and thought this would be good, they have a huge marine fish tank in their house too wich helped me make the decision

I have to agree with you there, Wayne. Our one and only experience there was not in the least bit enjoyable.

Would never go back.

I'll turn 41 on nov. 2nd and I booked dinner at Ohana's
Hoping to see the fireworks either from the restaurant, or from the beach at poly depending on the amount of time we'll spend in the restaurant.

It might not be the best choice of restaurant/food, but it's a place I like very much
