I've been asked by a friend to check out the cost of Universal tickets. I've heard they're going up.

Now we're going at end of April but only want tickets for Universal IF Harry Potter opens, otherwise we don't wanna go this trip. My friends are going in August and want to go, if only for a day. So...

With all the price increases - can I afford to wait til april or are tickets gonna go up by then? Where should they get their tickets from? I know you guys will know the answers cause you're the experts :-)

THANK YOU

The prices have already gone up. There are still discount passes at some AAA offices and Kroger stores but as soon as they sell out you're out of luck. They don't expire until you use them, if you plan on going and can find the pre-raise priced tickets you can save about $70/person on the 7-day 2-park tickets.

A single day single park ticket costs about the same as WDW, that hasn't changed.

We finally decided today that we will go to Universal and IOA in April. We have never been. I've been watching the ticket prices and wanted to hurry up and decide before the AAA tickets were gone. We purchased 7 day-2 park unlimited for $104 each, today. I thought that was a steal...I kept waiting for it not to go thru when I hit purchase, but, it worked.

Ah ok. Well we'd only need one day so it shouldn't affect me. As for them, I'll tell them to take a look around but I think they only wanna go for a day anyway.

Thanks for the info :-)

It was a steal, nice job.

Thanks! I am so excited to go. We were trying to wait until we hear if WWOHP will be open when we are there, but, then we decided we didn't care. We REALLY want to see WWOHP, don't get me wrong, but, since we've never been to US or IOA, figured we should go either way. Now, if WWOHP opens, it will be a bonus for us!

My kroger still has tons of the 89.99 (plus $6 tax) Spiderman gift cards... it's two parks for 7 consecutive days... is this as good as it gets?

Yes. Once they are gone you will be paying $170 for those same 7 days.

Does anyone know where I can find the 7-day ticket now? I know that I should've bought two weeks ago but I wasn't sure that I was going at that time. Help???:confused3

Ok Im highjacking this question with one of my own. I have bought 6 of the krogers 7 day 2park tickets and when i paid i wasnt charged tax. is that a norm? I live in Tennessee. Do you think that i will have to pay tax when i use them in March?

I wasn't charged tax either in GA. I'll be using them next month and will post the answer.

I am Chicago area so Kroeger is not an option (though I am sure they are tapped out regardless). I called AAA about availability though they could not tell me anything over the phone. Apparently I have to call the local offices Monday morning as they are closed on the weekend. I'm not liking my chances.

Thanks!

Hey i got them at the asheville Highway krogers in Knoxville, There were still some there. I have also seen that Maryville krogers has alot left. That is the only two krogers that i know of that still have them.

I was wondering this too & was surprised they weren't taxed. I figured I'd get taxed when I used them, so FL would get the money...:confused3 Either way, it was still a good deal!

I'm in Maryville (south of Knoxville) and we still have some left. I just came from the Alcoa TN Kroger and they still have them too. There was only ONE left on one side of the kiosk, but when I looked on the other side there were a bunch left...20+.

No luck with Food 4 Less. Called four different locations in Chicago area. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Calling doesn't work because they aren't actually tickets but a gift card in amongst hundreds. Many people called their Krogers and were told they had none when they actually did. You need to go and physically check yourself, unfortunately.

Thanks to both of you! I'm outside of Nashville, I'm going to check the local Krogers by me. It's definitely worth a shot compared to what the prices are now!
