We'll be arriving at our resort around 5pm on Friday March 20th. Rather than going to DTD (which is what we typically do)...I thought we'd explore Boardwalk a little bit. We'll have a car so transport isn't an issue. It's me and my 2 dd's 14 & 9. The 14 yr old loves seafood and is a pretty adventurous eater, the 9 yr old is happy as long as there is something that resembles chicken or mac & cheese on the menu. I was thinking Spoodles, but is that too fancy? After traveling all day I'd like to relax, have a glass of wine and just enjoy being away for a little bit. I also want to make it a relatively early night as we have an 8am adr the next morning.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance

Spoodles would be a good choice and is definitely not 'fancy.' They have a fairly varied menu including pizzas, plus a kids menu which includes mac and cheese. The Boardwalk can get busy in the evenings so you might want to make an ADR to be on the safe side. The ESPN Club is also very kid friendly but they don't take ADRs and the place can get quite crowded in the evenings especially if there is a big sporting event on TV.

You can review all the menus at: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm#res.

Do you have any desire for a character meal? You could try Cape May in the Beach Club. They have seafood. Or for really casual you can try Beaches and Cream. Super delicious.

I guess I should have said....We have loads of character meals planned! My "other" adr's are....

1900 Park Faire - breakfast
Prime Time - dinner
StoryBook Norway - b-fast
Garden Grill - dinner
Crystal Palace - dinner
Tuskar House - breakfast
Jiko - DInner
Spirit of Aloha Dinner show
Boma - breakfast
California Grill - dinner
CRT - breakfast
Chef Mickeys - breakfast

So I think I have a pretty good mix so far...my original plan was to go to DTD & just go to Earl of Sandwich (one of my favs)....but I thought maybe if Spoodles was a good fit....I looked at the menu & I think it would be nice.....off to call & see if I can get a adr for when I want

We always do ESPN Club when we get in. Not sure if you have any sports fans in your family but even if you arent (I'm not but bf is) we love it. You can sit down at a table in the resterant or sit near the bar and there is memorabilia everywhere. The chicken wings are the real reason we go there though!!

ooo hot wings are oldest dd's favorite thing in the world....hmm, ok might have to think about that one...

Not sure what you are looking at price wise but Flying Fish is one of our favorite places in all of WDW. Although it's a bit noisy due to open kitchen setup, it's not as noisy as Spoodles and has much better food. I definitely think it offers best fish/seafood dishes at a Disney restaurant.

And they also have free Playstation games if you sit in one of the booths by the bar. You give them one of your room keys as 'deposit' for the controllers. Not surprisingly, these seats are very popular!

I like the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. They have good food, it's quiet (which to me is a plus after a busy day) and I usually don't have a problem getting a table without an ADR.

Very casual and quick is to get pizza from the take-out window outside of Spoodles and sit at one of the tables there on the waterfront and enjoy the view! I think we had beer but not sure where we got that. That way you don't have to worry about making a certain reservation. It was good pizza too!
