Ok, this goes along with my post about Fultons-you've all sold me into going elsewhere for our crab legs dinner. Thank you for saving us the money we would have wasted on what sounds like a not so great meal!

Where is the best place to go for king crab legs? We are open to anywhere as long as its in WDW-parks, resorts, DTD (wont have a car and have no interest in taking a cab away from the magic).

We would love to find a place that is also semi romantic, but if the crab legs are yummy, we can deal with a bit of noise. We are willing to splurge a bit in price but only if its worth it.

Thanks!

I don't know what your post was about Fulton's - but we go every year and love it! Have had both the King Crab legs and claws - thought they were delicious! I usually get a 1/2 order because there is so much with a full order.
I wouldn't dismiss a restaurant because of bad reviews on these boards. Everyone has their own opinion - I know there was a thread a month or so ago about people who just loved Fulton's!

Thank you both for your opinions!!

Any other fans of Fultons out there? That lobster tail/crab legs combo looks to die for on the menu, but its so pricey we didnt want to waste our money if it wasnt tasty.

Any pics for each place? Hows the portion size for Coral Reef? Crab legs are one of our favorite meals and we can eat a ton of these!

We went to Fulton's years ago for DH who is a big crab lover and he really enjoyed it. It is pricey but he thought it was worth it. We got some kind of crab/lobster platter for two and there was plenty for us both.

That doesnt even look like king crabs legs. I get them from fultons all the time, they are lot bigger than that too, those look more like snow crab(up in new england most places sell snow crab as king crab, so I gave up trying to get king crab in new england. The king crab at fultons is very good, I have had both the legs and the claws.(and am going there this friday).

I didn't say they were good.....ITA they are not what I call king crab legs but someone else in our party (teenager) got them and loved them. As for Fulton's I just think they're the most over-priced restaurant in WDW for what you get.

We got King Crab Legs at our local Sam's Club last week the size of baseball bats!!!!!! They were incredible, don't know where they came from and don't care!

*We get our crab legs from Costco (similar to Sam's Club I think?)-great price and they are HUGE!!

Hmm...maybe we will try the Fultons ones. and how do you describe the atmosphere at Fultons? I've seen photos of private events there and it looks pretty, but it's hard to tell how the public atmosphere is.

Does the seafood buffet at Cape May Cafe have king crab legs?

We got some excellent king crab legs from Piggly Wiggly (local grocery store) for $6.99/pound and they were absolutely delicious! :)

I've always found Fulton's atmosphere to be great, but it's been a while since we've been there since we find them too be way too pricey for what you get. Hopefully someone else who's been there recently can weigh in here.

As for Cape May, haven't been there in a few years but I don't think they have them.

Hey, that's half of what I'm paying at Sam's. Maybe you can ship me some at that price!!:lmao:

7 out of 9 of our group had crab legs and loved them, two ordered the large plate that states it two have to get it and they fought over who was getting the most. My DS told us to watch his new wife eat crab legs cause she changes to another person and my gosh he was right, while everyone was sharing stories and chatting that girl ate the whole plate, we have video of her and she had nothing on her mind but those legs it is funny to watch. It was very expensive and we told the ones going into it with us to expect each couples meal to be no less then $100. and we were right on the money I paid for five and it was $567.00 Lunch can be less if you have DDE they get 3-% off for just lunch. But it was well worth the evening.

We ate at Fulton's in 2001 and again in 2003. The food was very good both times, and we enjoyed the atmosphere at each visit. I thought it was bustling in the waiting area, but once we were seated, I didn't feel crowded or rushed. I felt that the ambiance was nice. The lighting wasn't overpowering; it felt soft and suited the wood decor well. The dining room itself felt lush and elegant, which I would attribute to the feeling of being on the boat with the shining wood. I didn't feel we were too close to the tables near us, and I felt that the space of the dining room was ample for the amount of tables (as compared to Le Cellier, which we also enjoy but feel sort of packed into). I enjoyed it.

On our second trip, we felt that the service was lacking, but it was not horrible or even bad. He was just inattentive with getting refills and clearing the plates - not nearly the terrible treatment some describe having had there (not to negate theirs). I agree with PPs who have said not to discount a restaurant based on bad reviews here. Some of our favorites are Teppan Edo and Coral Reef, and only recently has Coral Reef seemed to have been excused from the DIS restaurant naughty list. I say try it for yourself and decide based on your own experience. Go in with an open mind - we have never been disappointed with a meal when we have that attitude, and we've eaten at many, many of the restaurants at Disney and in the resorts.

FWIW, I think having a window seat would be nice, especially after dark, so that you can see the lights of DTD themselves and their reflection on the water.

We haven't been back since 2003 but are going back for our October trip this year. I'm looking forward to it and am also have my eyes on those Alaskan king crab claws. Yum. I've learned that I prefer crab to lobster, so if I can get it at Coral Reef too, that'd be fine by me!

Fulton's is pricey, like everyone has said, but if you know that going in, you can survive the sticker shock!:lmao:

Like I said earlier, you can order 1/2 portions at, obviously, half the price. But I do believe their servings of the king crab legs are HUGE! As for atmoshpere -it's very big and noisy at times. But you can luck out and get a seat by the window - very pretty views. I think they also do seating outside - know I ate out there for lunch; not sure if they do it for dinner.

Fulton's is a must-do for our family every year!:thumbsup2

When making ADR's, can you request window seats? and do they have window seats for a party of two?

Also, we are planning this feast for one of our honeymoon meals-if we tell this to the ADR people, does this increase our chances of getting a window view?

I think I might have to give Fultons a try. Our HM is still a ways away, but this sounds like a splurge we'll have to try at least once!

I would DEFINITELY let them know it's your honeymoon! I don't know if you can request a window seat, but I do think alot of the tables by the windows are smaller tables. If I remember correctly, there are also some cozy booths to eat at. I would ask the CM when you make your ADR - they can at least mark on your ressie that this is a "special" occasion. Have fun and enjoy!

BTW, re-looking at the menu-do you all order the:

Louie Fulton's Ultimate Crab and Lobster Experience For Two - a feast of steamed crab and lobste, Alaska king crab, snow crab, golden crab and 1 1/4 lb. Maine lobster, with hash brown potatoes and grilled asparagus $39.95 per person, minimum two people.

or

Alaska King Crab Claws and Australian Lobster Tail - 3/4-lb. king crab claws and grilled lobster tail, with red skin potatoes and drawn butter $51.95

??

Why is the first one cheaper? It looks like the same stuff as the second one....but then again, I dont know alot about this stuff. I'm a picky and limited eater and DF is amazed that I even tried and added king crab legs to my repertiore!
