Any ideas??

We were thinking of California Grill but I have read reviews lately and it doesn't seem all that good. I think the Grand Floridian ones are going to be too expensive, but we would like to watch the fireworks (Wishes) if possible.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Lisa

Hmmm I think that the V&A would be too expensive for 8 people and thinking about it you may want to do it just for the 2 of you one night after the wedding.

California Grill is great Lisa - I'm sorry you've read some bad reviews I have never had a bad meal in there and I've probably eaten in there about 10 times since 1998.

The service is really good and cannot be faulted. The only thing I would say is that it can be noisy because the bar gets busy with people who are just there to see the fireworks, however they have now got a dedicated check in on the ground floor or something and you get escorted up to the 15th Floor. Also you may want to take a wrap as sometimes they crank the A/C up.

Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian is quite a fish driven menu and around the same price as CG and you'll get a great view of WISHES - I would say that this is marginally cheaper than say Citricos and you don't get the view there. The food is great at Narcoosees without a doubt and the service is good but I feel more special at the CG but then as you'll be in your wedding gear you're bound to get great service whereever you go.

Now if you can drag yourself away from WISHES how about The Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner at the Yacht Club near Epcot and then after dinner you and your guests could watch Illuminations on the Beach - get some blankets and champagne.

Heck you could do this with any of the restaurants that on the Monorail link and watch WISHES in the same way if that truly is your preference - that would be so much fun - maybe call Grand Floridian Private Dining and ask them to lay it on for you - blankets, Tuxedo strawberries and some champagne - you could have your own little private party.

I never considered that kind of thing Sam.

Is this something that I would be able to do have a small private party of the beach?? We will be staying at the Grand Floridian the night before and the wedding night so we will be guests, hmm I might have to look into this.

i vote for Citricos at the GF. then again, that's where we're going for our dinner. aside from V&A's (which we've only seen), it has by far the best service of any place in WDW. plus the place is just so beautiful, with the floor to ceiling windows and those really cool lamps. and best of all, a very low level of kids running around. the menu has changed a lot recently, adding a beef filet to go with the famous duck.
plus after dinner you can walk to the narcosees dock (not even 3 minutes away) to watch wishes.

i'd say that citricos is a few bucks less expensive than the cali grille. there's and older menu on Deb's site . like i said earlier, the selection has changed a bit since this menu was posted, and the prices have gone down a couple of bucks.
i forgot to mention that citricos is only open wed-sun.
take a read through some of the other posts about citricos. maybe it'll appeal to you. and maybe it won't.
but if you were originally looking at the cali grille, then you might like citricos.

We have eaten at all those - so please feel free to ask any specific questions you have.

It really depends on what type of experience/atmosphere you are looking for.

If it were me, I would do dinner on the beach from GF Private Dining. It's about the same price as the GF restaurants (less actually than V & A), but really feels like a SPECIAL occassion.

Good luck with your planning!

Pixie Dust,

Susy

Thanks susy, i am definately going to look into this, never knew I could do a private dinner on the beach, this would be a much more fun way to watch the fireworks.

Anybody done the blanket and strawberrys on the beach. how much does this cost? maybe we could do it the night after the wedding just the two of us?

Sam
