Best place for Illuminations

We are after a good place to watch Illuminations that's a bit out of the main viewing areas. We were thinking if there was a less busy part where we might be able to sit down, with a drink and enjoy it, in a country maybe?. Not sure if there is anywhere like this but if I don't ask I will never know!

Thanks, K

I read that the terrace/patio in the UK Pavilion is good if you are eating, get a 7:30pm ADR and request a patio table on checkin.

I don't like to be tied down to one place in advance. I prefer to pick someplace downwind and stake out a spot 45 minutes or so before the show.

Last time we were able to grab some seats outside of the pub where it is self-service. It was nice because it is under trees while we waited till the sun went down. Also we were able to people watch at the phone booths.

We like the bridge between the UK and France. You can usually find spots on the railing 45 minutes beforehand. If you look down before the show starts you'll see the boats from the fireworks cruise tying off to watch the show right below you.

There are two bridges between UK and France.
The one with the IllumiNations views is numbered 6a below.

I'm going September 17th and there is no Sparkling Party that night... Considering that option as well (unless they use that for private events as well)

That's a fine spot, but there are so very many more to choose, as well.

Best advice on watching Illuminations is if you get to your preferred spot and find it acceptably uncrowded, spend a minute or two looking directly at the fireworks and fountain barges in the center of the lagoon. If you feel wind blowing directly into your face, move immediately at least 1/4 of the way around the lagoon.

Wow, thanks everyone! This is fantastic! :thumbsup2 I'm glad you all understood what I meant. We've seen it before and we were stood in a specific spot that we had waited for for ages but this time we thought, we'd like somewhere we didn't have to rush to get a prime spot. Somewhere were we didn't have to be right at the front in a crowd but could instead sit somewhere with a drink and at least just see the fireworks etc. :goodvibes

We always stand right by the arches of Japan and have had a great view. We do this after Candlelight Processional so it puts us in a great place.
