If you get EE or show up before the gates are opened I doubt there will be much time to stop by Goofy's Kitchen or somewhere within the hotel before heading to the park....who has the best breakfast for early starts?

I personally prefer to bring bagels and scarf them down while waiting in line for EE. I don't want to be rushed by the restaurants, or have to stop when you get in the park to get something (that is probably loaded in sugar).

A few options depending on your needs and where you are staying.
1) stop by white water snacks at the grand. Good food, ok prices and pretty quick.
2) LaBrea bakery in downtown disney- walk up counter, not sit down service.
3) Jazz kitchen walk up window- but it doesnt open until about 8, so might not work
4) grab a quick snack in your room (pack some instant oatmeal, cereal bars- get yogurt if you have a car- you get the idea). Then after a couple hours of EE, when the park is getting busy, go to either Carnation cafe or Riverbell terrace for breakfast. You can make PS for Carnation. Or make a PS and go to Mnnies at the plaza for breakfast.

I don't know what time EE starts when you're there, but it was early enough when we were there that none of the restaurants in DtD were open. Once we were in DL, many of the counter service places were packed! We were finally able to get something at the CS in Tomorrowland without too much of a wait. I would plan to take some snacks to tide you over!

Depends where you are staying... but when we stayed at the Grand, we brought our own cereal and got milk down at whitewater snacks along with fresh fruit and muffins and yogurt and ate in the room. You can get cereal, toast, most likely eggs and stuff from the kitchen there as well.

When we stayed at Hojo's we had cereal again and then got milk at the little store downstairs and also had cinnamon buns from Millies...
