Hey all! So we're just about ready to be able to book all our dining reservations for our Disney trip in September/October!!!! So exciting! But I need to know what you prefer for a really good steak!!

So what's best?

Le Cellier
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Big River Grille and Brewing Works

Or any other place that offers a delicious steak!

Thanks!!!!

Hi! We will be there in Sept for our 1st Anniversary too, and we LOVE Yachtsman Steakhouse! We've gone there for the past 3 trips and it can't be beat! Plus, the service is top notch. We stay at the Boardwalk though, so it's a short walk or boat ride. Going to try Le Cellier this trip as well. I'm sure you can't go wrong at either place :) Enjoy!!

Was at Yachtsman last week and my steak was pretty much inedible, so fatty. I ordered the porterhouse. However, the appetizers and desserts and service were absolutely wonderful. We also were at LeCellier, California Grill and Narcoossee's last week. My husband doesn't like seafood so he gets steak everywhere and says his favorite is still at Narcoossee's.

Best place for steak at Disney is Shula's, but they aren't on the dining plan.

Best place on the dining plan is Yachtsman Steakhouse; I have always had excellent steaks there and there is a lot of variety.

Several restaurants have less variety, but one great steak (such as the strip steak at Flying Fish, the buffalo steak at Artist Point and the filet at Jiko).

Of the non-signature restaurants, Captain's Grille has a great steak (I thought I heard once that they share meat with the Yachtsman Steakhouse, which is right next door, but this may not be accurate; if true, it would explain why the steak was so good there).

Filet at Jiko is very good and my dh loves the Black Angus NY strip steak at FF. But, over the years Shulas always seems to have the most consistent rave reviews (I've personally never been there), but it definitely is a topper for price too.;) ...and as mentioned not on the dining plan.

1. Start with the Cheddar Cheese Soup and Pretzel bread
2. Enjoy the Mushroom Filet Mignon - with risotto, white truffle butter sauce or the Canadian "Prime" NY Strip with Yukon Gold Potato Gratin
3. I also recommend the Niagara Refresher to share - Mango smoothie with a hint of cranberry

-Great service and fun location:woohoo:

we are on the dining plan while there so we aren't wanting to pay for meals hehe (Sorry i should have mentioned that) but thanks for all the great advice!!!

We want to try Le Cellier, but noticed that there's really only one steak on the menu, whereas some of the other restaurants have more steak options....

Also, we live in Canada so wouldn't going to Le Cellier a waste? Haha jk!

We really enjoyed Yachtsman this past december....
I think we will try Shula's next.

We prefer Yachtsman to LeCellier, but Kona Cafe in the Polynesian has a good ribeye and strip and is 1 TS credit.

I would say Yachtsman hands down. I have never, ever had a bad meal there and I have only ordered steak when I was there.

I also had a fantastic sirloin at Citrico's.

J

I only order filet, but LeCelliers, Yachtsmen and Narcosses are all really good. trying Shulas this year.

I'm a steak eater :) I eat steak in almost every Disney Resturant and in 09 one of the best steaks I had was in France. So good. Mexio is good. Coral Reef is good. Citricos, Cali Grill, Maya Grill. Capt'S Grill.

My 2 cents;

1. Shula's

2. Yachtsman

Other good places,
Jiko
California Grill
Narcoossee's

This is from the man who has the diet of a Puma as in red meat, red meat red meat.

Was at Le Cellier last Dec. and it was amazing! The best steak i have ever had. I had the filet with garlic smashed potatoes. WONDERFUL! Can't remember what DH had, but he loved it! The kids had the chicken dish and they loved it ( they are 10 and 14). Have a great time! Post lots of food pics when you get back.

Well, I would have seconded Shula's, as there really is no comparison in quality with any of the Disney Dining Plan restaurants, but since you're on the dining plan, I'd say Yachtsman is your best bet.

Their steaks are good (not great, but good), and the rest of the menu is actually kind of excellent. They have fantastic appetizers and sides, so don't skimp on those. For a single TS credit, I'd say that the Grand Floridian Cafe probably has the best steak.

We loved going to Yachtsman's when we were there in September, in fact my DH asked if we could go back there when we are there in May since we are on the DxDP....can't say no to the man :goodvibes. The other place we really like a lot is Le Cellier (but since you already stated that you are from Canada, you may not want this). Another steak that DH and I really enjoy is the Fillet at California Grill. It is melt in your mouth awesome, along with the perfect view of MK....:cloud9: We are also going to be trying out Narcoossee's for the first time while we are there, DH and I are very excited about this one....DH is a meat and potato kind of guy so he is always looking for a really good steak :goodvibes

I live just outside of New Orleans, LA. We have awesome food here including excellent steak restaurants. This past trip, we were able to get a reservation at LeCellier after weeks of trying. This was the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. We had the filet. I don't know if we were just lucky or what but this year we are going to burn two table credits to eat there again.

I don't think it was luck. The new chef at Le Cellier has previously been at other signatures, including California Grill, and my three dinners there had consistently great food. They also prepared the filet exactly as my mom ordered it, and she loved it (despite generally disliking red meat).

Every table around me was also extremely happy with their food (and I was there 3 separate nights, so I saw 3 completely different sets of people love their meals). And the comments on here (at least about the food) are extremely positive from anyone who's actually been there for dinner since March 1st.

So for me it's win-win. It'll be easier to book because of the credit increase, and I now love a restaurant in Epcot that used to be a throwaway for me. :goodvibes

Awesome! I think we're going to do le Cellier for lunch so we can save a dining credit, and try Yachtsman Steakhouse for a dinner and use the extra dining credit!

Best of Both Worlds! :P

Between Le Cellier and Yachtsman's, I'd say LeCellier! We are going in June and can't wait, we substituded cream cheese mashed potatoes in place of something, don't remember what, but it was excellent. We liked Yachtsman's but not nearly as well as Le Cellier.
