Just wondered what everyones favorite place for a good steak is? We love the steak at Kona Cafe & already have it booked. I would like to try Le Cellier but can't get reservations there. We have Yachtsman steakhouse booked right now, but it takes two dining credits and not sure if it is worth spending two on. Any suggestions??

I take it you're on the dining plan, then. If you don't mind paying out-of-pocket for a meal, Shula's easily has the best steaks on property. If you're looking strictly for single-credit dining plan participants, I've heard many praises for the rib-eye at the Grand Floridian Café.

I Loved the filet at Jiko! That restaurant was 2 TS but well worth it!

IMO, Yachtsman is better than Le Cellier so if you can't get in I wouldn't sweat it.

That being said though, there are very few disney spots I'd consider two credits for. I'd consider paying OOP or doing as previous poster said and hit Shula's which is very good.

Shula's is the best by far, but if you are bound by the DP, YSH is probably worth the 2 credits.

I wouldnt bother with Le Cellier. I didnt enjoy my steak there. I had the strip, maybe i should have stuck with filet mignon. Either way i wont go back. I would try Shula's, or just stick with Yachtsman.

My favorite places to get a steak are:

Shula’s Not on DDP

Signature = 2 credits
California Grille
Citrico’s
Flying Fish
Jiko
Le Cellier (Evening)
Yachtsman

1 Credit
Grand Floridian Café
Kona Café
Whispering Canyon Café
Captain’s Grille

We REALLY enjoyed our steak atpopcorn:: Yachstman in december..popcorn::

Le Cellier has the best filet I have ever had - ever. I've eaten there when it was 1 TS credit and when it was 2 TS credits. This is high praise coming from me and DH since we have a ranch and like our 'own' meat. I've tried other steaks at Le Cellier and they are good but the filet is outstanding. If you keep your eye on the 'cancel threads' for the month you need, you may find a Le Cellier cancellation. And of course, you can keep trying as well. I've been able to find ADRs for this place last minute so don't count it out if you want to go.

Shula's has the best steaks on property... hands down. A bit more expensive than what's on the DDP, but well worth it. You can also usually get a $25 coupon from restaurants.com that costs about $2. I don't really care for many other steaks on property.

Just note that this is not a restaurant geared for kids. They have a kids menu but you would have to ask for it, it is not usually offered to you. It is also usually quiet and dim inside, so only bring kids if they can sit through a long meal without getting fussy or loud.

My DH and I loved Yachtsmen. The steaks were very good but the ambiance is wonderful and the service even better than that.

The filet at Le Cellier is excellent. I wouldn't recommend the other cuts as much.

I haven't been to Shula's in WDW, but the one in Miami is outstanding.

Enjoy!

I want a steak our last night at the world and we'll have used all our TS credits so we're going to Shula's. :thumbsup2

Shula's is my top pick. However, if you need to use DDP credits, Yachtsman also has a good selection of steaks. Many of the other restaurants only have 1 or 2 cuts available and if those aren't what you prefer you'll be out of luck.

Agree with Shula's! One of the few places on site I can find a good porterhouse. Plus they have multiple locations across the country, so you know they are doing something right!

Thanks everyone! Even though it sounds like Yachtsman is probably worth 2 credits I went ahead and switched to Grand Floridian Cafe. We often do a 2 credit meal, but we will only be staying 5 nights this time, and I like to try to hit as many different restaurants as we can. So decided to only use 1 credit each night.

Shulas sound wonderful, but realized we have one her in indianapolis. So I'm gonna have to try it here sometime!

Excited to try GFC since it is one we haven't been to yet, even though we've been doing the dining plan every year since they started it!

Just my experience: We took my DD and her husband to Shula's at WDW and had a fabulous meal. So when it was my DSILs bday, we decided on Shula's in Indy - there's no comparison. The atmosphere is totally different, and the service and food weren't nearly as good. FWIW

I'm going to have to put Coral Reef out there. I have had consistently good steaks there. They have been cooked exactly as I asked for, tasted wonderful. I know, I know...it's seafood there. But the steaks I have had were terrific. Same with Flying Fish.
Of course, our Oct trip has Yachtsman, FF, LeCellier (lunch), Coral Reef, and Artist Point all booked. Good thing we're on the deluxe plan!!! But, there are two of us who just love a good piece of beef!!
