Best Place at SSR to stay??

We are finally going home to SSR for the first time at the end of this month. We have never actually been to SSR and are wondering where the best place to stay at the resort is as far as views, access to the pool, etc.

Can anyone give any advise / recommendations?

I don't have the answer but I was just about to post the same question.
I hate to jump on posts but I also hate to see the same question again.
My priority is to be close to a pool, preferably a quiet pool.
Which building is the best to get to the pool fast? I am handicapped and prefer seeing the pool from my room, plus, I hate long walks in my bathing suit. I would either be carrying my grandson or all his equipment while my son carries him.
I don't care about the view from the room, I really don't spend time in the room but they have put me down for DTD view.
I have never stayed at SS but at OKW I always ask for 42 or 56 for the quiet pools.
I have a 1 bedroom booked if that makes any difference.

The best area depends what is most important to you.

Springs ... if you want to be closest to the main pool (zero entry and water slides), Community Hall, spa and gift shop/food center.

Grandstand ... if you want to be closest to the second feature pool (water play area), have golf course views and be closest to the ferry dock. Also first stop on the bus route and the newest section.

Carousel ... if you want to be the first in/out of the resort by car, prefer a more secluded spot.

Paddocks ... if you want to be closer to a quiet pool (probably the quietest) and have views of mostly lakes. There's a bridge in the center to get you to the main pool in about 5 minutes of walking.

Congress Park ... if you want views of DTD, shortest walking distance to DTD, or access to a quiet pool. About 5-7 minutes from the main pool.

All areas have their own bus stops and access o the resort center. People have reported the Carousel feels more like a hike to the main pool. Springs has mostly views of a lake and other buildings. Grandstand is newly opened and a very short walk to the main area. You see the buildings and pool from the Carriage House driveway.

We are at SSR now - the second building in Grandstands is open and we are staying in one of the studios We were in Congress Park last year. It all depends on what your preferences are. Grandstand section has a great pool and close to restaurants and Springs main pool...Congress Park is closer to DTD. We decided to try Grandstands this year because we wanted to be near the boat to DTD. I would not want to stay at Paddocks or Carousel unless you like it quiet.

Is there a building that has a water view and view of DTD? Or am I being greedy?!

Congress Park - Buildings 2101-2436 have the water view....pool view....view of DTD. We stayed at one of these last year and had a fantastic view of the pool and DTD

Thanks for all the info. We have a 5 year old that will be with us so we do not want a really long hike to the pool but I also want to make sure I have a great view, hopefully of DTD

Prefer Grandstand because it is closer to restaurants and main pool. The pool at Grandstand is nice too.

We just returned from our first SSR trip yesterday. We stayed in the Congress Park section in the 1100/1400 building (closest building to Downtown).

We loved the location; it was a 2 minute walk to the quiet pool, a 10 minute walk to the main pool, and a 15 minute walk to the Grandstand pool. It was also about a 10 minute walk to Downtown.

In my opinion, it is hard to beat Congress Park. The Springs location also looked pretty attractive.
