Without the strawberry compote, I find the sugar coating too crunchy which I find gross and unpleasant.

I requested mine without the sugar coating, and they were happy to make it for me that way.

The Kona Press Pot is the best coffee on property.

Another vote for the Shahi Tukra French Toast at Sanaa Breakfast! It’s counter service style so you order at the counter and then can pick a table by the window to watch the animals. The whipped chai cream is so good!

This looks like a "must try" next time I stay at Kidani. Is the chai cream what I see on top? And are those almonds? I love almonds. Can I pick a table and they'll bring my breakfast out to me? Last time I was there, I just bought stuff that was out, and took it back to my room.

Yes! You order when you walk in at a makeshift counter type area that they set up for breakfast and they give you an animal figurine table marker like in the olden days of Be Our Guest counter service. You can pick any table that you would like and they’ll bring the food out to you! We were there around 10:00 am and we were able to grab a table right by the windows. I would say there were about 4-5 other groups there when we were. A total hidden gem! And yes, the chai cream is on top (delicious!) along with sliced almonds and golden raisins. It was so good! I had read to get the homemade banana bread with hazelnut spread too but they only have one loaf a day and it was sold out by the time we got there.

We went to Kona Cafe a few months back and we tried the French toast with the caramel banana sauce which is a newer item on the menu. It was out of this world. Definitely recommend!

It’s definitely not Crystal Palace anymore. They got rid of their puffed French toast, and I don’t think they gave any French toast now.

So DS1 is a french toast fanatic. Back in the day, he used to eat the banana bread french toast with bananas foster sauce from Roarin Fork but I think that is still gone. Where is the best place (QS or TS) to get him GOOD french toast?

I wish they would bring this back, this was my fav. I complain every time im there that it needs to come back. Most of the other deluxe resorts have a french toast option, wish this one would bring it back.

Back in the day, I would have said Tonga Toast all the way, but when they started making it with LESS banana in it years ago I soon lost my taste for it. Maybe I should try it again sometime?

I love all of these other options though that we may consider for our trip later this month. Last time we just left property and went to an outside restaurant (First Watch...it's a chain) that was easy to get to from Polynesian as they make a GREAT French Toast served with a warm berry compote that is also awesome.

quick serve breakfast at Yaknyeti in AK had pretty darn good french toast! the kids meal was large too! fresh soft and tasty!
