Okay which is the best unit to stay in at All Star Music. I would prefer to be close to the bus stop but away from alot of noise if possible.

Personally, I would recommend getting a preferred room due to the layout of ASMu. We were there for a week in February with a preferred room, though initially we wanted a standard room. Well, we kept calling back and they told us only preferred rooms were available at our rate, so we kept it and boy were we glad. The Calypso buildings (preferred buildings) were great! Those buildings were so close to the pool, food court, and bus stop, and we had pool view rooms and neither was noisy at all. Our first room was in building 1, 3rd floor facing the pool, 2 rooms down from the food court. It was the perfect location with a great view, but we found people's clothes in the drawers and the room smelled of paint so we had to switch to another one. We were moved to the last room in building 10, a corner, on the 3rd floor facing the pool. This also had a great view, and even though we were at the end of the building the walk was so close. Also, we never heard a sound from the pool and since we were the last room no one ever had to walk past our door on the way to/from the parks.

If you are getting a standard room, I would request Jazz Inn. It seemed like a really cute theme and it had a great location--in between both the main and quiet pool and still just a short walk away from the food court and bus stop. Country Fair seemed like it would be very quiet, but the walk to the food court/bus stop was very far, maybe about half a mile. Though it was nice to walk around and see it, I wouldn't want that walk at the end of a long day in the parks.

We have stayed at Music twice - both time in the Broadway section. We were on the 'main street' by the Beauty & The Beast Marque -- close to the Piano Pool - nice walk from the bus stop & food court - which we didn't mind - past the main pool & water fountain!!

If you're going when the weather is still going to be hot, ask for a room that does NOT face the pool. No room is totally sound proof and the pool is open until midnight. My last room there was in the Calypso building. That is the nearest to the main building and I made sure the room was in the back and away from the pool. I was never bothered with noise of any kind.

Ditto what Virgo said.

I was just a ASMu in April for a 3 night solo stay. I ended up in Calypso, on the opposite side as the pool. I was close to the main building, bus stops, food court, and the parking lot where my rental was.

The pool was PACKED everynight at 11 when I went by, so I think away from the pool is a great idea.

3rd floor Jazz section facing the other Jazz Building, is IMHO the perfect spot on ASMu. Not that we eneded up there mind you. We were 2nd floor parking lot view. I've been 1st floor parking lot view in calypso too. We were in the next to the last room (from the parking lot) and could hear the cars go by.

We also stayed in Calypso. The building nearest the food court. It was so convenient being close to the bus stop, food court, laundry room and pool. We had a room facing away(toward lot), so we had no noise at all!

So if you request a Preferred Room location, is Calypso always the building you're placed in? I requested Preferred when I made my ressie, and I'm sure glad that I did! Being super-close to the food court and bus stops was high on my list. That way DF and I can grab a quickie breakfast and be the first ones at the bus stop every morning ... OOOOH, I can't wait!! ;-)

We were in the Jazz section and loved it. Close to the pool and the food court without the extra charge.

What is the closest bldg to ASMo? All but 7 of our group are in ASMo, but the others could only get Music (they got the outstanding military deal, but no availability in Movies)

None of the buildings in ASMu are that far from ASMo. Esp since ASMu is shaped more like a long corridor than the other two AS. Buildings 7, 8, 9, 10 in ASMu all border a parking lot between ASMo and Melody
Lane.
I have walked all three end to end on a few occasions. And even that way is not bad. Walking between the buildings, you will be surprised at how fast you can get from one to another.
We have stayed in Calypso (3 nights last October) and Rock Inn (building 4) 8 nights last January at ASMu.
It looks far, but isn't really that bad to the front. That walk was still closer than the walk to the main area when we stayed at CSR or POR.
