Personally, I would recommend getting a preferred room due to the layout of ASMu. We were there for a week in February with a preferred room, though initially we wanted a standard room. Well, we kept calling back and they told us only preferred rooms were available at our rate, so we kept it and boy were we glad. The Calypso buildings (preferred buildings) were great! Those buildings were so close to the pool, food court, and bus stop, and we had pool view rooms and neither was noisy at all. Our first room was in building 1, 3rd floor facing the pool, 2 rooms down from the food court. It was the perfect location with a great view, but we found people's clothes in the drawers and the room smelled of paint so we had to switch to another one. We were moved to the last room in building 10, a corner, on the 3rd floor facing the pool. This also had a great view, and even though we were at the end of the building the walk was so close. Also, we never heard a sound from the pool and since we were the last room no one ever had to walk past our door on the way to/from the parks.
If you are getting a standard room, I would request Jazz Inn. It seemed like a really cute theme and it had a great location--in between both the main and quiet pool and still just a short walk away from the food court and bus stop. Country Fair seemed like it would be very quiet, but the walk to the food court/bus stop was very far, maybe about half a mile. Though it was nice to walk around and see it, I wouldn't want that walk at the end of a long day in the parks.
