Best Pet Friendly Hotels?

I recently upgraded to annual passes on my last trip and now I'm trying to get down to Disney World as often as I can. But I can't ask friends to watch my dog every time so I'm looking for the best and closest hotel that is pet friendly.

Now, I have a Great Dane and I know some hotels will have weight restrictions (even though my dog is much better behaved in home than most little dogs, but that's a different story). I want one that's semi close to the parks because I will need to leave mid day to let him out, walk him, and feed him.

So looking for any advice y'all may have on pet friendly hotels!

We really like Lake Buena Vista Residence Inn. It's convenient to the parks. There's a wonderful breakfast included and 3 nights a week there's an evening reception. The rooms have a kitchen. It's not cheap, here.

A cheap place is the Clarion Lake Buena Vista. There are reports of bedbugs there. Have no idea if this is still a problem or not. We've never stayed there and again the size of your dog needs to be checked out.

Extended Stay America is next door to the Residence Inn LBV.

You will probably have to call whichever place you choose to double check about your dog.

I have no idea if they will accept a Great Dane at any of these resorts.

You may have to consider a kennel.

Cool.

Thanks for the info.

I know we can stay at La Quinta but I was just seeing if anyone else had any inside information.

I'm trying to avoid kenneling if possible. Even though I will be at the parks most of the day he will still get more attention from me then at a kennel.

Again, thank you!

There is a kennel at Disney which you could also go walk your dog, etc without traveling to far..

Have been searching for accomodations for our family along with the 33 pound Schnorgi. Seems the pickings are slim to begin with, then you check the recent traveler reveiews. :(:worried:

Now I am back to playing with the idea of homeaway's rental homes. Some have pets considered. The extra fee is not too bad either ($75-90 for the week).

I think the places I suggested would all be closer than the LaQuinta to Disney. LaQuinta would probably be cheaper than the ones I mentioned.

Oh I'm planning on checking out the ones you mentioned. My goal is to be closer to the parks but if not at least there is always LaQuinta.

Have you looked into vacation homes yet? We want to bring our dog but don't know where to start.

Check the Drury Inn on Sand Lake. Fairly new. I read it allows dogs for a minimal fee per day.

Drury Hotels are definitely pet friendly. They do ask you to sign a waiver and there's a fee. One of their rules has always been that you can't leave the dog there more than a short period of time....I think it was 30 minute. Not sure if that's a hard and fast rule. Drury is a wonderful chain!
