Hi Everybody. I am heading down to Disney World for my 19th Thanksgiving trip in a row!! This year I am talking my 7 month old son for the 1st time. Any ideas what park I should take my seven month old and any suggested rides? Previous years I have headed to WDW with my parents, sisters family, inlaws and sister and brother in law so I am a pro at the parks, but it is all new for me with an infant. We have several character breakfast experiences planned so he can meet the characters, but not sure about the parks. I chat about my previous trips on Episode 628 of Be Your Guest podcast. @Disneythanksgiv Any info would be helpful. Thanks!! :thumbsup2

My daughter was 14 months the first time we took her. Magic Kingdom had the most for her to enjoy, she loved all the dark rides (IASWAA, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, etc), the train, Dumbo, the Carousel, Tiki Room, Monster Inc. Laugh Floor, Country Bear Jamboree.

I've found Seaworld to be the easiest place to take my three and a half month old baby. It's the quietest place with the largest walkways. There are lots of exhibits to look at and you can take it at a very slow place and still see a lot. The babycenter is really nice too.

That being said, out of the Disney Park, MK has the most stuff to do with young babies. There are many rides that you can take a baby on and since there's very little alcohol, you don't have to watch out for drunk people (which usually isn't a huge issue at any of the parks anyway, save for Epcot at Food and Wine). It is a bit of a pain getting in and out though.

Epcot is a good second choice. Stuff to do for the littles ones and it's easy to get in and out of.

x2...Magic Kingdom.

Which park is YOUR favorite? That's the one I would go to! Babies are awesome because EVERYTHING (bubbles, grass, car rides etc) is new & exciting. Baby won't have any preference or clue. Do things that you want to have memories of, take the pictures w characters that you want.
What do you want him to experience? You get that right?

At that age you can just go to whichever park you most want to enjoy. Your little seven month old will happily tag along wherever you go mostly oblivious to the world around her. The MK has the most rides she 'might' enjoy, but really she would probably enjoy IASM just as much as Spaceship Earth at that age. Even the scarier rides like Pirates shouldn't even phase her at that age. When we took my son at 14 months he was just as happy walking around the sidewalks picking up other people's trash as he was on any ride (with the exception of the tea cups, he loved the tea cups).

Also, be prepared for her to be possibly terrified of the characters.

I took my son at 8 months. MK is the best but the others have good things too. HS has honey I shrunk the kids play area and Disney Jr. Epcot has character spot, Figment and sea with Nemo my DS loved the little play area in the seas. Oh and spaceship earth is a good one.

MK any ride without a height requirement I took him on even HM. He loved all if them.

It's really a great time. Their smiles and giggles are the best!!! DS loved characters at that age so it was great. Have fun!!!! :)

My daughter was 6 1/2 months for her first trip. I agree with everyone else, just go to YOUR favorite park. You are restricted to rides that have no height requirement wherever you go. My dd had fun at all the parks that we took her to. There will be plenty of time later on when your child is able to make their own demands on which rides/parks they want. In January my dd will be a bit over 2 and she is now very demanding, her way or no way... I'm sure we will be riding her favorites over and over again. LOL

Edit: the only park I would avoid is Hollywood Studios, not much to do there with an infant, unless you want to just go to shop. Magic Kingdom and Epcot were my faves with an infant.

HS has a few outdoor shows (good for drowning out infant noises), PlayHouse Disney, the Osborne Lights, and the Great Movie Ride - all good stuff for babies

This. Just got back from a trip with our four month old, and each park had things that drew her attention and each park had good character photo ops.

A infant is going to be as happy in one park as another. They can go on any ride without a height requirement and you can baby swap other rides. They will be just as happy (or unhappy:worried:) on The Great Movie ride as they are the Pooh ride. The will enjoy strolling around the WS as much as around the paths of animal kingdom. Now, to get some super special pictures, MK might be your pick. Remember that 7 months is just on the edge of stranger awareness so the characters may or may not be a big hit at all.

I agree to go to YOUR favorite park! I've been with babies at ages 2 months, 8 months, and 11 months and it never really mattered what park we were in.

When we took my 4 month old, I was surprised at how much we enjoyed Epcot with her. The rides she could ride there are rides that rarely have a line, so it worked out really well! She didn't know the difference between Nemo and The Little Mermaid ride (same thing essentially with a big wait time difference!). And she loved the aquarium.

Animal Kingdom and Disney Studios also have private nursing rooms - if you are still nursing.

Yes! Take advantage of it now because soon you will have a 6 year old who has definite ideas about what they want to do ;)

I will be taking my 3mo old to MK next week....Just a day trip...I figure character ops, and dark rides....I cannot wait...
